I got an email this afternoon from the athletic department announcing the Friday announcement.

To our Boston College Athletics Family, Friends and Fans:

Starting at Noon ET on Friday, July 1, Boston College Athletics – as well as the football, men’s basketball and men’s hockey teams – will have a new look on Twitter.

If you're already following these accounts, you won’t have to do anything to keep automatically receiving the latest news from The Heights – the posts will continue to appear in your feeds.

If you want to converse or tag us in Twitter posts, however, you will need to know and use the new account names!

So let's get the conversation started!

Eleven hours until Friday 7/1!!!! CHANGE IS COMING, BABY!!! After a year+ of 0-for-the-ACC, years of delay on the new baseball stadium, and seemingly empty promises of an indoor practice facility, THE TIME IS FINALLY HERE!!! PROGRESS!!! Brad FREAKING Bates drew you all in with the red herring of the Twitter changes. After months of hearing nothing out of the athletic department regarding ANYTHING, do you really think that changing Twitter names is what they are so excited about announcing? I THINK NOT!!! Seven hours until it's Friday, 7/1!!!! I'M SOOOOOOOOO FREAKIN' EXCITED!!!! I know that some of you are saying that it could just be the Twitter thing, others are speculating about uniform/logo changes, but I have to imagine that it is something bigger. MUCH BIGGER! What could it be? WHAT COULD IT BE?

Is it:
1) updates on the permits for the baseball and softball stadiums?
b) info on the supposed discussions with Boston city officials regarding the indoor practice facility?
iii) changes to the football program that hasn't won a conference game since November 29, 2014?
D) changes to the basketball program that hasn't won a conference game since March 10, 2015?
v) changes to the tailgating and/or game day experience?
six) changes to or elimination of DBS?
7) anything substantial that would justify a high six figure salary?

I HAVE FAITH, BRAD FREAKING BATES!!!! CAN'T WAIT FOR TOMORROW, BRO!!!!!

You could make reservations for the next four Final Fours.
You could look into prices on a really cool RV for all of the road trips that you're going to take.
You could make some hilarious vines where all you say is "dudes".
You could remove a couple of ribs so that your lifelong dream can be realized.
