Seriously. I was very excited because, you know, Stanford. But then I did the math and realized how old I'll be when/if this series actually happens.

In fairness, aside from a single opening 6 years from now, we had no P5 openings until 2026 anyway.

P5 scheduling had gone from terrible to actually pretty good. Notre Dame, Ohio State, Purdue and Stanford. The only openings between now and 2030 are 2021, 2026 and 2027. Hopefully Bates can manage another decent home and home. Throw in Penn State to that mix, for instance, and I think we'd all be pretty satisfied overall.

Edit: just realized the ACC only announced the ND games through 2025. So there's a chance we could get them again in 2026 or 2027. Which means we are exactly one more home and home away from a very solid future P5 schedule.

The first sentence of this is fantastic.

1) With Bates and Daz at the helm, there's definitely a one-P5-per-year limit.

b) Purdue fills a void when there weren't many options remaining and they're a reasonable opponent for a rebuilding program (still rebuilding in Daz year 7 of course). Could be worse. Could be Maryland or Rutgers.

I thought Stanford had a policy of not traveling to play road games against teams in the Patriot League?

Given what we know about the Daz/Bates scheduling theory of 6-6 at all costs, I'm expecting a cancellation of this series in the near future accompanied by a statement from Bates saying that he thought he was scheduling Samford.
Is this the 5 o'clock free crack giveaway?

Leave it to BC football to make us stop and recognize our own mortality. So much for sports as diversion.
