until you are not contending play the better QB. they have played fsu and Clemson too close to assume shit

Nope, 8-4 at best. But until they get blown out by someone and knocked out of contention, I'm not going to play a QB for next year's development

To be clear, my support of Wade started when people anointed Towles the starter upon his arrival, which is a ridiculous position. You play the better quarterback, but if it is close, I think that Wade should get the nod. From what I've seen and read, Towles has a great arm, but that's about it. To put it another way, he's blessed with a golden arm and tremendous stuff, but the execution of it has not been consistent.

To be clear, having seen the Spring Game live, I felt that Wade was the better QB. But it was one meaningless scrimmage and we don't see the practices. My only position is that if Towles is better, no matter how close, you play him. If Wade is better, you play him. Neither seniority nor a concern for next season should play a role.

By the way, I'm feeling antagonistic (IE being a prick, foot), so post accordingly, but here is exactly what will transpire:

1) Some no name poster like glacier here or on TOS will attend three minutes of a practice; or, will say they've done so; or, will extrapolate ridiculously from the spring game that Wade is the next Russell Wilson.
2) Towles will start the season as QB, because Towles and Wade will be reasonably close in practice and Towles has played acceptably for some games against major conference talent and Wade has not done so and it will be a perfectly reasonable decision but no one will care about that.
3) Eepstein will post thousands of times.
4) We will lose to Georgia Tech. It may or may not be partially or completely Towles' fault.
5) It won't matter whether it was Towles fault or not, the same thing will happen either way.
6) Eepstein will post thousands of times. He will start talking about the EO coaching staff.
7) It will be terrible and will go on through the rest of the season and beyond.
8) Ultimately at some point Wade will start. He'll be OK, but not better or not markedly better than Towles.
9) We will limp to the Weedeater Bowl.
10) Eepstein will post thousands of times. He will continue to talk about the EO coaching staff.
11) Retardeds will convince themselves Addazio will be fired.
12) Addazio will not be fired.
13) Wade will be the anointed starter for 2017.
14) Anthony Brown will become the new Darius Wade and we can start with 1) above again.
15) It will be terrible.

for the record, if he starts the grad qb and then benches him only for wade to play more effectively, he should be fired on the spot.

that said, it's entirely possible this happens.

I still think a large part and parcel of this quarterback evaluation is going to be the expected well below average play of our pedestrian wide receivers

I still think that part and parcel of the average play of the pedestrian WRs was the well below average and terrible QBs throwing them the ball.

It was a complete failure. Combine the worst OL I've ever seen with the illustrious Dudeck/Callahan WR disaster and the lovely Flutie/Fadule combo at QB and it had no hope of success.

The WRs were not even close to average.

or the terribler oline that hindered the defensive progress towards the backfield as much as a turnstile

It was a complete failure. Combine the worst OL I've ever seen with the illustrious Dudeck/Callahan WR disaster and the lovely Flutie/Fadule combo at QB and it had no hope of success.

It's actually almost impressive how absurdly bad our offense was last year. OL was miserable. QB's were miserable. RB's were bad/mediocre. WR's were bad/mediocre. Play calling was miserable.

WRs are by far the best part of this offense not named Hilliman
