6-6 with a bowl win against a G5 team.

first time I haven't predicted 5-7 for Addazio. I have a ton of trouble gauging how this team will do - I think that the SB nation write up for BC was along the lines of "the offense will get better because it almost has to and the defense will get worse because it almost has to, but not sure by how much for each" which isn't incredibly astute but akin to my feeling of "who knows?" There were elements of terrible coaching (that we've seen for 3 years), bad luck, and general bad timing that led to last year being 3-9 instead of 5-7 or even another 7-6 and I don't have a good sense for how to split blame between the three.

I will say this is the least excited I've been for a season with Addazio as HC.

I'm actually pretty pumped about this season. There's finally both talent and depth on this roster, so when we have to spell players or injuries happen we're not trotting out true freshman who aren't ready or walk-ons God forbid.

The DL, especially the DE will be awesome, the LB talent and speed is crazy and finally at DB we don't have the Fox, Rositano, Sylvia disaster.

I'll cede if the OL sucks we are in trouble, but we have a 5th year SEC QB and some serious speed at the skill positions.

This isn't 10-2 territory or anything, but this team should be able to do some damage this year.

Wagner - win that looks howard levels of ugly. this will be the most talkative the sarge will be post-game
Buffalo - win, but not by much. team comes out slow after beating the shit out of wagner and thinking they are the greatest team in the world
Clemson - loss as the 2 dollar bills flow through the local economy
Syracuse - loss in the battle of #beadude vs. #domedudes. the field smells like astroglide and monkey turds after the game
@NC State - win in rolly because i might actually attend the game this year
Louisville - loss due to injuries (according to sarge). i cannot predict who will be injured but it will be someone that the rest of the season will be blamed on. thin skin appears in the post-game presser
Florida St - loss to an almost empty stadium
UConn - loss due to the previously mentioned injury as well as the team not "wanting it" as much as the mouthbreathers. we have been officially surpassed
Wake - win in a whipped cream on dogshit worthless game

5-7 no bowl and a search committee starts to look for an athletic director/head football coach combo

I like this reverse-2010 prediction. A lot.

I don't care how badly the team sucked last year. With 8 returning starters on the number one defense in the country and 8 returning starters on offense (maybe 4 offensive linemen) anything less than 6 wins get Addazio fired immediately. This should be another one of his 7 win seasons (his 3rd.) And that is with admitting that the ACC Atlantic division is FAR AND AWAY the strongest division of ANY division in ANY conference of college football.

They win the first 5, we all get hard for the season, Clemson pummels BC by like 20... and then reality seeps in....
