figure there's got to be more to the story that would get a flutie arrested in natick. not that i'm eschewing the significance of drunken driving but if no one else around was witness to it i would think a call to darren to pick him up would have been the more likely response
now in the street there is violence
and, and a lots of work to be done
no place to hang out our washing
and, and i can't blame all on the sun
good god we gonna rock down to electric avenue
and then we'll take it higher

The "crash" part is generally tough to look past no matter how minor. I'd agree with you if he was just pulled over.

per the article, the "crash" was hitting a curb, i still don't see the problem unless the curb was hit with such force that he damaged his car, the curb or someone else's property.

maybe darren fucked the cop's wife back in high school. or troy fucked the cop's daughter. those are the versions i'm prepared to believe

Is this the first off-field "incident" (that we know of) during Daz' tenure?

If you count a no-longer-on-the-team CJ Parsons beating up a homeless guy, then no. But I don't count that.

In general, is something like this a dismissable event ? Would be nice to free up another scholarship if so, let Troy transfer to Colby where he can actually play

There was also an OL from Natick that was expelled from school and a CB that was kicked off the team. Anyone know what they did?

You should do a Google Street Map of the location. There basically isn't a curb.

he could certainly be dismissed from the team for it but i would think the school wouldn't get involved unless it happened on campus.

said differently, if johnny jersey (a bc sophomore) hit the curb while pulling out of frank's chicken house and was subsequently arrested for dui and minor in possession, bc would never find out and johnny jersey would likely not be tossed from school.

there does appear to be some at the "intersections"

I'm sure Daz will suspend Troy for the opener and he won't get to go to Ireland.

I'd be surprised if they discipline him any further than that.

You would need to be careful about setting that kind of precedent. If this were Matt Ryan in '07, would you have wanted him kicked off the team for one DUI?

The cop really didn't need an excuse to arrest a drunk underage driver with an open container. They kinda teach them to do that. My money would be on it being worse and this is the sanitized version.

there also appears to be curbs at the top of the street where it turns off from a more major looking road

i'll admit i have no idea where on fisher street this happened

that was my point and is further bolstered now that i've seen images of the street that the arrest took place. if all he did was hit a curb on a neighborhood street, i would think that the cop could arrest him but he could also let him go (due to his last name being flutie and him only "hitting a curb").

of course, the "marked lanes" citation doesn't make much sense as that road does not appear to have any lines indicating lanes on it.

has anyone reported what he blew (other than "at throwing/quarterbackmanship")

No I agree, I was just curious more as to how other programs handle things like this.

ESPN just posted something saying he is suspended from the football program, nothing about how long however.

It is this. His play at QB almost made me stop watching BC Football it was so bad.

We have enough slow white WRs, please get rid of him.

Glad to see his decision making off the field is as good as it was on the field.

he's probably mad flutie didn't die. after all, bad play on the football field should carry a death sentence.

that's one of my favorite things about dr. heppy; his ability to put things into a proper perspective
