The rec plex was first announced as a done deal (after the court challenge by newton failed) in the fall of 96 or 97.
It only took 20 years to get it built.

I hope the team still knows how to play in sunny, hot weather or rain after being sheltered in these comfy confines during preseason. On the bright side, nobody has died from heat exhaustion.
