Overnights: 9.9 for Cotton and 9.7 for Orange. Last year's semis were 15.5 for the early game and 15.3 for the late one.

agreed with mo'j the big 10/11/12/14 media war is going to be fascinating. you have an arm of the company bleeding money so it won't be the standard, jack the contract up 20% and lock it in for 10 years. does fox / nbc try to get involved?

Why on earth are these two games being played on new years eve. espn is the worst.

Was just thinking the same. Only cot 1/4 of the Clempson game and doubt I will get to watch much more of the next.

Get used to it. The semis are on NYE 8 of the next 11 years.

ESPN tried to move these games to Jan. 2 this year but the CFP said no because they want to start a "new tradition" of playing these games on NYE.

I don't mind at all...NYE is vastly overrated.

Me too, NYE is amateur hour. But I'd much rather spend new years day watching two playoff games than not watching a bunch of meaningless bowl games.

Lots of "fits" playing in the Rose Bowl today. Speaking of which, anyone surprised by Stanford and their 10 fans raping Iowa has never looked at their schedule. 12-0 running a lay-up line of a schedule. BC goes 12-0 in 2014 with that schedule (even with Donnie Brown turning players like Hackenburg into Top 10 draft picks).

I didn't have a beef with the New Year's Six invites when they came out but these games are garbage.

Yesterday was the most un-interested in New Years Day bowl games that I can ever remember. The least margin of victory was 16 points, The OSU vs. ND. Games were so boring, much like watching BC vs. Howard.

Yards from scrimmage stat is incredibly damning. However, the return yardage is stupid and largely a product of Stanford not playing defense. Return yardage mostly comes from kick returns. And, the less scoring your D gives up the less chances you have to return a kickoff.

ESPN screws up as much as the people who run college football. If ESPN does not give Texas their own network deal, we might have 4, 16 team conferences with conference championship games being round one of the playoffs.
