BC fans don't like VTech as a "rival" either. I am sure we will get Cuse and VTech. I just hope the 3rd isn't Louisville.

i think cuse and pitt are the locks and the 3rd is between vtechand the 'ville. who do i need to lobby to get it to be wake #therivalry

sorry i meant vpi and the 'ville

I'm kind of sick of Vtech. Never really was a rival to me. I thought of the Canes as more of a rival based off 1 game.

I'd prefer UVA over Tech. Same sort of crowd as BC with many of the same sorts of neurosis and inferiority complexes, just with different bogeymen. And there is decidedly less camouflage in the stands during the games.

agreed - but figure that might be a non-starter as it feels like uva will clearly be paired with unc and vpi... but we might get thrust into the 3rd input

no meatbombs, but it is still gay how much they fall all over themselves for this dumb fuck "rivalry." i would wager all of angry dick's net worth that one of the "every year games" will be unc v. uva

From my read, I think schools like BC will be playing wingman in this scenario. The conference will focus on making sure FSU, CU, UNC, UVA, NCS and maybe Miami are happy with their annual 3 games. The rest of the teams will get what they get and won’t get upset. Luckily for BC, we’d generally favor the after-thought programs. Personally, I think BC will push for Cuse and then be like whatevs for the rest (noting that they reserve their preference for ND if they ever join).

As for the ACCCG, it makes it much harder for BC. Pairing the highest ranked BCS teams means that there isn’t a path on the field. If BC wins every ACC game next year, we are guaranteed a spot in Charlotte. In the future, you could have 1-loss Clemson taking the spot because of reputation. That said, if BC gains an annual win based on the lighter schedule, it probably helps more in the long run.

'Cuse is a lock and saves Travel Costs!!! This has been killing us since we joined the ACC as economists from Rutgers and UConn predicted for years would happen. If we can just schedule UConn, Holy Cross and Maine in the same year, this would save the program tens of dollars. I am sure there wont be any fall off on season tickets with 2 of them on the schedule next year.

This would be the perfect schedule if you eliminated Idaho and Tulane and added UConn and Maine!!

They did for the 2019 game.

There will be no BC charter train from Chicago to South Bend for this year's game.

Is it just not available? FWIW, they started emailing about the 2019 trip in late July.
The best part of the 2019 trip was the 2 nights in Chicago. Now that Lightfoot has turned the city into a warzone, the appeal just isn't there. The ND stadium was less than 75% full and the atmosphere was nonexistent, nothing like my 3 previous visits - it didn't help that we got blownsed out and never really put up a fight.

Athletics simply said they won't be doing the charter train this year. No reason given, nor any mention of alternatives such as charter busses. They are still planning an event in Chicago though.

I would have liked to keep the annual game against Clemson rather than Miami, but otherwise this isn't terrible in terms of mixing up the opponents we'll see at Alumni each year. However I have to think it will greatly reduce the chances BC makes it to the ACC Championship game. Under the divisional format you could be the 3rd best team in the ACC and still make it to the championship game so long as it was the other division that was stacked. Now you've got to finish in the top 2 - period. That ain't happening often for BC.

People are going to bitch because CONTENT! But, this a hell of a job by the ACC. BC's draw is precisely the teams you would expect. Same with Pitt and UNC and Clem and FSU and pretty much everyone not named Ville.

I would have liked to keep VT over the U.

After playing them for so many years straight, it will be weird to not have them on the schedule.

Sucks that Maryland left the conference, that would've been ideal for them to be our 3rd opponent than the Canes.
