some general thoughts:
- other than maybe 1 DT, Tucky at LB, and one of the WR, i don't think any freshmen will play this year. will be a real nice development year for the program if we can redshirt 20+ guys.
- the secondary is loaded and should be loaded next year as well with only Johnson not returning. does anyone in particular recruit back there? they seem to have done a nice job.
- why isn't Austin Stevens moving back to DT? he was recruited as a DL, moved to OL in spring 2015, and now isn't among the 6 underclassmen listed on the depth chart. DT is the position with the least depth.
- just based on the law of averages and opportunity, one of these guys at WR has to emerge as an above average starter.

Thanks 25. What is the redshirt rule. I know you can play some your FR year and still preserve the redshirt. For instance, Korutz, played garbage time against VTech but I am pretty sure that is it. Does he get a redshirt?
Richardson has played in everygame since his auspicious start against VTech.
Idrizi played in the last 4 games.
The player participation charts have shown Kowalkowski, Cheevers and Tucky as playing. I have not noticed them and those charts are notoriously inaccurate.

Cheevers has played on the punt team for sure - redshirt declaration must have missed deadline.

a few quick thoughts:

1. I expect Landry to declare for the draft and he will be an enormous loss.

2. I thought we were deeper at LB for next year, but I was wrong. We will need at least 1-2 of the kids who haven't played yet to step up and play big minutes. Any injuries there and we are in big trouble.

3. What happened to the sophomore class? Only 10 kids remaining in the program.

4. They need 2-3 more bodies at rb, just to get through spring practice. Last years, mass defections at the position have hurt.

Heard somewhere that Landry's technique is still raw and he relies on his athleticism more often than not.
Supposedly once he gets that down he will be unstoppable... kiwi 2.0?
I think he comes back as I don't see him as a first round pick yet.

Would make it easier to judge where we stand going into next year not only to see what the depth is, but what the holes are. had a similar thought. also, we have 15 WR's, which is insane given we seemingly play the same 3 guys (Smith, Walker, Callinan) every game. maybe we will actually pass more this year? Glines played RB at St. X so maybe they move him back into sort of a hybrid role.

also, will we just phase out the FB? Wilson seemed to get touches at RB last year, Wolford is gone, and it doesn't look like we've really recruited anyone at that spot recently.

Barksdale (WR) and Cottrell (DL) are both RS SR's that don't play much. wouldn't surprise me if they graduate and move on. then i'd guess a transfer or two.
