The Illinois State football team added another potential option to its passing attack on offense Monday, when head coach Brock Spack announced the addition of Boston College wide receiver Chase Pankey to the roster.

Pankey redshirted at Boston College during the 2015 season and will have four years of eligibility remaining with the Redbirds. The 6-foot-2 speedster will be eligible to play immediately for ISU in 2016 due to FCS transfer rules.

i guess this is the right area for this, was looking at the spring roster again and saw that wade & hilliman were listed as juniors.

any news on their medical RS? am i reading too much into something that we find errors in every time there's an update?

You're reading into it too much. None of the weights have changed either. Don't think 260 is Lindstrom's desired weight

They are just listing by academic year, not class year (of course, this is not consistently true b/c why would the roster make sense that way). For example, all the freshman are now listed as sophomores, irregardless of whether they declared their redshirt.

Do we know if Wade & Hillman were able to redshirt last season? Would be surprised if Hillman did as he got hurt in the 2nd half of the 4th game.

Also, Wilson & Davon Jones are now RBs.

I thought both were eligible since neither played a significant amount vs Howard. Hilliman will be close to satisfying the 30% rule (depending how strict these parameters are) , but should be able to get it

These are the medical redshirt requirements ...

- The student-athlete must suffer the injury during one of their four seasons of college competition or during the senior year of high school.
- The injury must be incapacitating. That means it must be a season-ending injury.
- The injury must occur prior to the start of the second half of the season.
- The student-athlete must not have competed in more than 30% of the season or three contests, whichever is greater.

Cam Seward gone? He is not on the roster: http://www.bceagles.com/roster.aspx?path=football
Also, the roster has been partially updated to show Jones at RB, Karafa at DE & Vietello at TE.

seems like we are getting back to a lot better allocation between classes now. and at the same time we are still young, think he is doing
a pretty good job of fixing a crappy situation from when he first started

The defense in particular looks talented, deep and balanced through the classes. The offense is another matter. OL's got some good names, but is mostly young. RB's and WR's look like they could be headed for a problem. QB looks good.

cremins {l Wrote}:seems like we are getting back to a lot better allocation between classes now. and at the same time we are still young, think he is doing
a pretty good job of fixing a crappy situation from when he first started

The defense in particular looks talented, deep and balanced through the classes. The offense is another matter. OL's got some good names, but is mostly young. RB's and WR's look like they could be headed for a problem. QB looks good.

I don't see the WR issue.

I agree, outside of inexperience from not having a passing game last year, there is speed all over that group and you need to have a small amount of optimism (that Gunnell is a competent coach) considering the progress that Robinson made from last year, where he looked lost, to the spring game and how Smith looked in a short period of time since switching.

Fair enough on WR. And looking at it, TE will likely be an asset moving forward too. I guess it's mostly RB. And in fairness, that's one of the few positions where BC can probably bring in freshman good enough to start.

Future looking bright. Now about that coaching depth chart...

For what it is worth, Knoll seems to be the punter and Lichtenberg the PK as of now

I'm assuming Daz has a reason for having 12 WRs, none of whom are rising seniors, in a run-oriented offense that uses TEs a majority of the snaps? Pulling a McClary isn't solving this either - 12 roster DBs + only Johnson is graduating + two 2017 DBs already committed.

I hope our coach next year installs an Air Raid offense.
