Montel

Postby NotoriousOrange on Mon Nov 02, 2009 8:31 am

People don't realize just how good a season Montel is having.

He is tied for 5th in the country for scoring with 84 http://espn.go.com/college-football/sta ... at/scoring - more than any other ACC player. He is also 13th in the country in rushing tied with Ryan Williams for the ACC lead. http://espn.go.com/college-football/sta ... at/rushing

He should be in the discussion for ACC offensive player of the year.

As a side note I predict that P6P will make a phony newspaper prediction on Thu Apr 15, 2010 at 2:22 pm, that Jags will be fired by the the Omaha Nighthawks. He then will sit on this information until Tue Jan 04, 2011 9:42 am when he will claim that at least he got the year right

Where is our Athletic dept in promoting these stats to the media?

He should, but he won't be a serious contender. The two disaster games on his resume hurt him, and outside of what he can control is the QB play this year. One of Ponder, Lewis or Jacory Harris (who is fading) will win it.

Fortunately, Montel has two more years here and will have plenty of opportunity to pile up yards and scores in this offense. He'll be in the discussion again.

Nesbitt and Dwyer will get some votes too since they are part of the current conference favorite.

Would he be in the discussion if he were at Free Shoes U, Clemson or UNC? My answer is he would

Demaryius Thomas is probably not in the discussion, but I think he is the most impressive player on GT. One of the best receivers I've seen in college football.
