You have shitty facilities, job doesn't pay that much, and a craptastic / delusional fanbase.
Yeah you're in a goldmine of talent, but everybody else pillages that area as well
Positives:
- relatively easy competition in ACC Coastal
- excellent talent pool
- national attention
Negatives:
- 2-3m salary
- facilities
- oddly powerful and difficult former player cartel
- basically no high school recruit remembers that there ever were Miami-glory-years
Being in the Coastal Division has to be the biggest draw, arguably the easiest division in the P5 to win. I think Miami actually could be a decent job, but it's in a pretty bad tailspin. Best case scenario I've heard discussed is Charlie Strong getting fired in Texas and being willing to take a pay cut for Miami. He'd kill in recruiting and given a few years and the easy Coastal could really do some damage.
And regardless, whatever the problems of Miami, it'd be considered a much better gig than BC.
