Addazio is a better head coach than Golden. There I said it. Both are awful tacticians, both are above average recruiters (although Golden has not done anything special at Miami), the main difference maker is personnel decisions. Brown vs. D'Onofrio.

I think The U's problem is OC James Coley. The U has sucked on third down and in the red zone going on three seasons now, which covers Coley's tenure there as OC. Coley was previously OC at FSU, but did not call the plays (Fisher did). Miami's players are good enough to do better than being ranked ninety-something in third down conversions. At a minimum, Golden should give play-calling duties to someone else, if not fire Coley outright.

Sure it's part of it. And it is a part at which he is particularly terrible. Perhaps it is more fair to say that he is a good strategist rather than tactician, as what I was trying to credit him for was big picture. Otherwise, play calling hasn't bothered me much.

It really sucks that we are going to get so much rain down here. I really believe that hurts Clemson and their speed. I think on a normal day, Clemson beats Notre Dame handily. Not sure if the weather at Duke will be any better than here.

Everything's topsy-turvy. UCLA losing to ASU who looked like garbage last week against USC. Ole Miss getting torched by Florida. This feels like 2007. SEC East looks like a trainwreck along with the Big10. Only the Big 12 looks good.

TCU & Baylor looked like world beaters & Oklahoma beat an unbeaten ranked team on national TV. Couple that with four Top 10 teams losing and Michigan State/OSU looking like hot garbage and they could have 3 teams in the top 10 by the time the first playoff rankings roll around.
