I don't "react" at all. That is because I rarely (if ever) post while I am watching. The Georgia Tech game (this year) was the exception. I do believe (sitting on my living room couch, early morning, bathrobe and slippers and lap top) I did post during the game.

I do not multi-task well. I do one thing at a time. I do it very well. And when that task is complete, I move to the next task. My life is synchronous.

Daz and TOB at this point are a wash, with TOBy having a slightly better conference record in a shittier conference, but with mostly better OOC slates. Daz compared to TOBy after year 4? Advantage TOB and its not close, but fuck that guy anyway and I'd rather have Slaughter.

It was the comparison of Jags and Toby that was truly retarded. Oh, and people that remember having hope for conference championships under 9 win ceiling are delusional.

I am with you up until that "take him back" comment. Just because I agree that TOB was better through 4 years (as Teddy says, shit ain't even close), that doesn't mean that TOB was so shitacular that I would want to revisit his squatting on the field picking fake grass days.

All that said, while I have no hope for Daz ever matching TOB's high watermark for wins in a season, I admit that it is unfair comparing TOB's and Spaz's Year 4. While the Gamblor was a legit hurdle for one year of recruiting, the program TOB inherited was eleventy billion times better than that of Daz. I'm not talking simply about the players. BC was not far removed from the Coughlin years. BC quickly moved on from Henning (unlike BC letting Spaz languish in suckitude). As a result, top players on that team were recruited by Coughlin. Further, BC really only had 1 poor season prior to TOB. This means that Toby's recruiting pitch was much more believable as kids recently saw a relevant BC program (as compared to Daz who inherited a program that football forgot). Simply... it was a greater challenge to rebuild BC post-Spaz than it was post-Henning.

I'm not seeing the MacDonald kid on BC's NLI page. Am I just missing it, is there an issue, or is it simply that someone at the Heights is too lazy to update the article?

McDonald is coming. It is not an official SEC style grey shirt, but BC still needs an official scholarship to open up. Someone will get quit or flunk out this spring and officially open his spot.

Yes. BC won't can't talk about it, but I think the musical chairs is also why Gardner is in Storrs. It becomes tricky and screws some kids, but I would prefer Daz being aggressive with scholarships than Spaz's old "who cares about 85 scholarships? 80 is just as good!" I wrote this before, but Spaz's apathy was the equivalent of self-imposed NCAA sanctions.

This is what makes taking so many WRs so infuriating! I would much rather have taken Gardner than Stonebrner in this class, especially after taking McStravick last year.

You know Daz's love affair with gigantic slow unathletic white WRs and TEs. We have about 10 on the roster.

I disagree re: Stoneburner but could see your point if you substitute McQuarie for instance. No need to take 3 TE in one class. With that being said, as ATL pointed out, Im sure this will work itself out with some 5th year not being invited back, and I would personally rather take the chance on even a flyer from this class versus someone who is a proven non-commodity potentially playing a 5th year.

Guys like Stoneburner and McStraviak make sense to me. You can include a Patrick Brown in this as well. You're getting kids from big time football states, kids who ran sub-4.5 at a football camp and mid-majors were all over within those states. These kids have the ability to help on ST with their speed should they not work out at WR. For as much as I bag on Callinan, he is criminally mid-used in this offense as an outside WR. He should be stretching the seams of defenses weekly with Sweeney. He is terrible as an outside WR because he has no ability to generate separation against elite DBs. He'd have 70-80 yards a game in the Aaron Hernandez role because LBs have no chance against him.

On the other hand, there is absolutely no reason to recruit this many blocking TEs and other kids you know can't contribute. These kids aren't athletic enough to contribute on ST, and frankly just get in the way on running plays because they all stink at blocking. They are about as much threat in the pass game as I am. Long, McQuarie, Bletzer, Palmer from the last 2 years all come to mind (I know Palmer and Bletzer aren't blocking TEs but same problem).

This roster is about where it should be, but BC takes so many fliers and dart-throws we're forced to play starters on ST because we have so many players that can't contribute.

Also stop recruiting NH and RI except for the once in a generation type player like Paye. You're frankly just being lazy offering kids from freaking Deerfield Academy. There is zero upside here and you'll never convince me otherwise.

I disagree. Stopping recruiting would hurt in that they would be less likely to land the once in a generation player when that player came along. Its worth it to recruit and throw a flyer or two type offer to those obscure states and hope they pan out while keeping open the lines of communication.

As evidenced by Paye, you're not landing those once in a generation players anyway. We recruit the shit out of CT and MA, and a majority of the time we whiff on the top guys.

Stop littering the roster with these kids who can't even contribute on special teams

Debbie Downer, if we don't even try to recruit the top local players, should we just stop recruiting and shut down the program? Jamie Silva and Will Solomon say hi. If Daz doesn't push Brown to Michigan, Paye would be coming to the Heights.

Paye wasn't so much Don Brown, although it was a factor, as he was concerned about the coaching staff stability. Stable coaching staff Paye is coming to BC.

It doesn't help you recruiting them throwing random 2* flyers at kids who have no business playing D1 Football.

I am usually pretty pessimistic about recruiting, but I don't think this is a bad class. I think McDonald was a great late addition and I think the past two years have yielded some decent secondary prospects and athletes on D. The one thing that remains a complete and utter atrocity is wide receiver and I think something that will haunt us. If the o-line can develop I am not saying we can win the Atlantic, but I think we can field some competitive teams -- as long as Daz gets fired of course.

Not as down on the WRs. Glines, Borgenson, Walker, Smith(s), White, Robinson and maybe Lewis....some mix of skills in there. Development needed, but potential is there.

I see potential in Smith if used correctly.

Walker needs to be more consistent, he is one of few that I actually see getting open. This was irrelevant when Patrick Cutler locked onto one guy last year.

If Thad or Robinson could catch they'd be good.
