Questions About The Board

Postby Bryn Mawr Eagle on Tue Apr 21, 2015 9:03 am

I just reread the "Eagle Outsider Dictionary and History" thread, and perused the Hall of Fame. I note that there have been a few new posters in recent months, many of whom may not be familiar with the shenanigans listed in those threads . I encourage them to read those forums. I'm not sure if there is any interest in this, but if any of the new posters have questions about the Board, its history, or the cast of characters (both past and present) that populate it, we could use this thread to answer them.

(Despite the baseball success, "the offseason" is off to a slow start, so maybe this will give us something to talk about this week).

Question time is now open.

I would suggest a perusal of the Hall of Fame for newcomers.

Edit: The Nevada Wolf Shirt that cures AIDS thread should be in the Hall of Fame.

What percentage of board members have met another board member in real life, whether in or out of a hot tub?

directly or transitively?

THIS IS IMPORTANT!!!!

i've met:

bigpete (god rest his soul)
thee delicious wang (god rest his soul)
my brothers (that hate me and have asked to go anonymous to not get splashed with my idiocy)
adamrv
blogboy
phillybceagles (well, we "ran into each other" more than we formally met)
bcjane(of laws) but she left the board shortly after we met. it might have been because of something the headless jortsman said
dr. jason seaver (but he left the board around the time of the headless jortsman... likely in embarassment over his sibling losing the headless jortsman)

there are likely more i am not currently remembering or didn't realize i met in the first place.

I know a guy who used to post here (and his father, who occasionally does). The latter I do not believe knows that we know each other in both lives.

I am OnyxBlackman.

I have seen tubasteak on the jumbotron at a hockey game, I believe.

I have viewed TRE's LinkedIn profile.

A few years ago I met a fellow BC football fan my age (late 30s/early 40s) and when I told him that I am on Eagle Outsider his reply was "you guys are a bunch of animals".

Other than that, I have no experience meeting my fellow Eagle Outsider posters even though I have shown up behind the Applebee's on multiple occasions.

Everyone I meet from the board tends to cease posting shortly thereafter. Probably just a coincidence.

Dee and Dick are probably the only exceptions.

I was walking down the ramp from the roof. The Jorstman was tailgating (think it was the floor below the roof) overlooking Shea. I made I contact with the guy standing next to him.

huh - maybe the jortsman was still in our possession post-game as that's right where we were tailgating. you likely interacted with me, with one of my brothers (that hates me), or with fucking dr. jason seaver who's family eventually lost the headless jortsman

Everyone I have met from here was at a Tailgate.

Tailgated with BCDee and her husband at my very first BC game & met Militant there as well.
Tailgated with BigNick a couple of times, Claver twice and Pedro a number of times but didn’t know who he was until last season.
Tailgated with HerzyLax at number of games.

Did not actual meet him & wouldn’t remember if I did, but I ran past Chicken about 20 times at the Miami game back and forth to the bar / bathroom.
Never met Campion but one of my uncle’s worked with him jizz-mopping at XTC in Akron.
