In addition to being the right coach for BC I believe that Addazio truly likes it here and is in it for the long haul

I think he likes it here, but there is no way he turns down Michigan and the 300% salary increase that comes with it. Heck, I wouldn't want a coach who would turn that down.

Agreed. Urban Meyer won a BCS bowl and went undefeated before going to Florida. He also had success as a head coach at Bowling Green. He was very close to a sure thing. McElwain, not so much. He may end up doing a great job at Florida, but there are just more uncertainties.

This is where I come in as well. McElwain would've been a very good hire for BC. It's just that I would think Florida could have its choice of ANYONE... including Jimbo Fisher.

FSU has won 28 games in a row and plays in an easier conference while still having better tradition. They could have done better, but Jimbo was never gonna happen.

Based on new unfounded gut feeling, I am changing my prediction to Kliff Kingsbury. Currently coaching a team, and I feel like he's a guy that a lot of people could like at Michigan

Gotta agree with this-- they both went to back to back ACC championship games with Tom O'Brien's kids.

He's at his alma mater and in a winnable conference though....he may want to stick it out in Lubbock.

What about Butch Jones? Michigan native, former CMU coach, lots of experience in B10 country although not in the conference itself. Only been at UT two years and they're a big program but if Michigan is willing to back up the Brinks truck it could happen.

Wow! I didn't see that coming and didn't see it anywhere on the interwebs. Cutcliffe is an excellent coach and Duke is damn lucky to have him. The question is will his Duke tenure be more like Beamer's or Grobe's?

Shit, that entire sports program is in shambles. The hoops team is laugh out loud funny. And has to play Arizona next.

That's a real weird coach for Michigan to target. Cutcliffe is 60 years old! Based on the offer, however, I think it gives a glimpse into their thinking (a pro-set offensive specialist who is experienced as a head coach).

First of all... Holy Shit! Oregon State really won that swap of coaches with the B10. Second of all, Chryst would personally pay whatever Pitt buy-out he has for the chance at Wisco.

Will be interesting to see if there is any recruting fall out from this at Wisconsin and/or at Pitt shoudl Chryst leave. Wisconsin is involved with a number of guys that BC had offered (specifically Jake Pickard and Sam Madden both from NJ but guys in previous classes as well such as Lubern Figaro). These were Pickards tweets from a moment ago :

Jake Pickard @JakePickard2015 · 10m 10 minutes ago
Excuse me?

Jake Pickard @JakePickard2015 · 8m 8 minutes ago
"Do you plan on leaving anytime soon" "Absolutely not, this is the place I want to be". A conversation I had a couple weeks ago. Smh

Jake Pickard @JakePickard2015 · 5m 5 minutes ago
Haha but the fact I first found out from a coach of another staff....

One of the rumors as to why he left is because he was disenchanted by the admission process at Wisconsin and said their academic restrictions were too stringent

I read a whole thing about Beliemia leaving for Arkansas where he basically said "I want to win a national championship. To do that, I have to coach in the SEC. Even a 2nd tier school in the SEC affords me a better shot than a B1G program."

That's probably another version of why whats his face is headed to the PAC-12 right now, too.

Cutcliffe turning down Michigan is probably the case of a life long Southerner at a job where he's exceeding expectations and can breathe easy for a few years heading into retirement instead of moving North and having mumble some bullshit about respecting the tradition.

MIchigan looking for a pro style offensive mind, who has also succeeded at college. That doesn't leave them with a lot of options. Can they get Mora to leave UCLA? Butch Jones does seem like a decent idea.

I never once bought into the Daz to Michigan hype, but Wisconsin seems like somewhat of a fit. Hopefully at this point it's a semi-lateral move.

I never bought into it either. But, with folks fleeing the conference the way they are, I wouldn't be surprised if Daz gets serious consideration from both schools.

I'm not worried about Addazio. If you have ever spoken directly to him, you would understand why people say the guy truly loves it here. He genuinely seems to enjoy the school and the area. That's not to say I don't think Addazio would never leave, I just don't think he would leave for anything less than a tier 1, absolute certainty job. Maybe I'm wrong, maybe others are wrong, it certainly could just be a persona he puts up. But I would be shocked to see him leave for a Wisconsin type job.

For 3 million per year Daz will go anywhere and Wisconsin is not just anywhere, it's a big time job. BC better pony up this time if Wisconsin or Michigan show interest.

I think this is just because people can envision DAz eating polish meats and going deer hunting with little strain on their imagination. Truth is, Chryst and Doreen have actual Wiscy ties if you want to worry about an ACC coach going there.
