SU Week

Postby DavidGordonsFoot on Mon Nov 24, 2014 12:54 pm

I hate Syracuse and I want this one bad.

I'm worried about a letdown coming out of that battle in Tallahassee, but it looks like SU has checked out on the season, so that will help. They allowed 256 yards rushing on 52 carries last week to Pitt, who was without Conner in the second half (hip injury). SU's defense is normally better than that.

Current forecast calls for a high of 39, no precipitation.

This BC team is better than .500 and needs to prove it. Let's go!

i'm hoping for a win to jettison us to the hip-hip-hooray bowl
now in the street there is violence
and, and a lots of work to be done
no place to hang out our washing
and, and i can't blame all on the sun
good god we gonna rock down to electric avenue
and then we'll take it higher

They always seem to save their best game for us.
Last year reminded me of how much I hate Syracuse.

I will be spending this week back in Upstate NY, where from my Facebook feed I gather everyone has already moved on to basketball season (much like how quickly hockey became the only game in town for BC in October during the Spaz years).

It'd be annoying for me if we fucked the chicken and did something dumb. But i don't think we do. Would bet we don't cover, though.

I have a fear that FSU is going to beat us twice.

In a lot of ways, I think this is a game that will tell us whether Daz has a chance to ultimately take the next step with this program. To get to 10+ wins, you get a lot of these games where you are coming off a big win or loss and playing someone who knows you well. It will sat a lot if Daz can get the team to forget FSU and re-focus enough to pull out a win over a not-great Cuse squad in what will likely be a disinterested atmosphere.

Do they still have a top rushing defense?

I have confidence Daz won't let the team come out deflated. Getting the team to focus on the next opponent seems to be something he is able to do well.

Im box score reading...so i dont know, but:

lost 8 of 9, closest loss during that span was a TD (the one win was wake...ool)

pitt just steamrolled them and ran for 250 on them at 5 yards a clip so im not too worried about it

that line is actually very little considering how absolutely horrendous Syracuse is. they are the worst team in the ACC right now. And I am counting Wake after their scintillating win. Syracuse season ended about 4 weeks ago, just nobody has told the coaches yet. their offense is trash and they stopped trying to play defense a few weeks back. However Diamond Ferri lives forever. I will never ever be comfortable with an SU game again. that game ruined me everyday for about 3 years, now it just bothers me about once per week, This game will never be easy for BC. It will be a muckfest. Get the win and move on.

Wouldn't miss "Flutie bobblehead" day for anything!

P.S. I think Daz/Day is gonna let Tyler run ripshod on Saturday, as thanks for what he brought to the program. Daz loves Murphy and is the type to let him steal the spotlight on his final home game.
