I think the key to this game is how VT plays not BC. If VT comes out focused and energetic, I can see them hitting BC with a few quick 3 and outs and BC never gets untracked, their crowd gets into it, and something like a 23-10 game happens. If there is infighting, and they don't come out ready to play physically, BC could manhandle them. That would reflect very poorly on Beamer. Is there any hot seat action on him ,or does he get to pick when he wants to leave?

Wrong weekly segment, unfortunately. HockeyRuption is brutal.

I call the whole site HockeyRuption. It wasn't him.

No, but I am guessing there will be a not-funny comedy skit with Baldwin squawking at a Hokie sometime this week

I think you're right one one front. VT will load the box and dare Murphy to beat them through the air. Though I think in general VT is vulnerable, I am worried whether we have enough to beat them with an effective passing attack...I think this game as much as any will fall into Day' s lap to scheme. I see us winning by busting a couple of big plays once someone gets to second level, as opposed to controlling the game on the ground. Winning ugly.

I imagine they will stack the box and try to gobble (pun intended) up the run and force us to pass, but I'm not overly concerned. Their pass defense leads the ACC, but their rush defense ranks 56th nationally, just in between Louisiana Monroe and North Texas. Duke Johnson just gashed them for something like 290 yards. I'm not saying Tyler Murphy or Jon Hilliman can do that, but VT will have their work cut out for them.

CSU was something like 112 against the run when they played BC. How did that work out?

I suspect in conference play that they will use more than one page in the playbook. That's the game that Alston didn't touch the ball and Murphy ran maybe 3-5 read options.

Clinton Portis, Bryant McFadden, and our favorite Wake Forest QB all picked BC for the ACC Network today.

We will now promptly lose.

Jinxed over on ESPN.com as well, with Matt Fortuna, David Hale and Jared Shanker picking us. Only Andrea Adelson picking VT.

Yes and it is not wearing a helmet. Dee can corroborate.

this is really more hansen's territory. dee is a sweet girl that graduated from bc the same year as one of my brothers (that hates me) and married a nice man from the clemson and doesn't get on with all your meatbombing and weener posting. sure, she drives into a pool every once in a while but... no one's perfect

Bad weather right now in Blacksburg (according to the Weather Channel online; I'm four or five thousand miles away). Not sure whom that might favor today.

Also, wonder how many prospective recruits realize that, in winter, it's just about as cold in places like Blacksburg as it is in Chestnut Hill. (Right now it's 37 degrees and a wintry mix in Hokeyland, 42 degrees in Chestnut Hill.)

We woke up to no electricity because we have SNOW in SC. We aren't even in the mountains. And we forgot to fill up our hurricane bathtub. Goodbye sweet world....

PS it better come back on before our game and I can't imagine what it is doing in Blacksburg if we have snow here!
