Packers 3 times inside the 5 and no sign of AJ Dillon.

What good is your 250 RB if you ain’t gonna run him there???

The starter led the league in TDs last year and they scored in the 40s. Not sure you can question the play calling.

They had four downs from the one in the first half and did not score any points. Might have been worth giving 250lb AJ a crack. He has experience running into crowded boxes for a couple yards. I suspect his rookie status might have had something to do with it.

I watched the whole packer game. Their offense looked pretty solid despite a few drops from #83 and other WRs. They need to tighten up on defense though. Nice to see AJ get 2 carries for 14 in his debut. Hopefully, he will get more touches as the season progresses.

Dan Quinn and Adam Gaze are proof that racism still exists in the NFL. There is no explanation for either being a head coach other than white privilege.

Dan Quinn is the architect of the Legion of Boom and took a team to the Super Bowl. Gase, yes.

Anthony Lynn taking his foot off the gas to bleed the clock against KC in the second half and then punting on 4th and 1 was the most Daz thing ever. You are the one of the worst teams in the AFC playing a likely-to-repeat Super Bowl Champ. Play to win the game!

7 catches and 81 yards. When is the last time a BC alum got that many catches and/or yards in a game?

Walker was released. Looks like he had 2 catches last year. He was mainly a return man.

As for other former BC players who might have had that many catches and/or yards in a game, the most recent ones I can think of are Tom Waddle, Mark Chmura and Pete Mitchell. For Waddle, the last time he had a game with more production than Jeff Smith was in 1994 - 8 catches and 82 yards. I can't think of a BC WR who's done anything close since that time. For Pete Mitchell, the only time he had more yards in a game than Jeff Smith was in 1995 when he had 10 catches for 161 yards. The last time Chmura had more yards in a game than Smith was in 1998, but doesn't look like he ever had more than 7 catches.

So I think it's been over 20 years since we have seen that kind of pass catching production from a BC player in the NFL. Easily the worst position historically at BC (EDIT - the WR position that is, not TE).

Waddle is late 80s, you can throw in Kelvin Martin from that era. He might have been the best pro WR post Brennan. Killer kick returner, probably didn't see a ton of catches though.

Sean Ryan bounced around for a while at TE but he never had a ton of catches.

So did Dragos. We have had a lot of quality college TEs but Chmura was our only quality NFL TE. Long could be our next.

Mitchell was better than Chmura. Think he had the Jax single season catch record for a long while.

in retrospect Chmura got more recognition because he played on good teams. Mitchell was a better pass catcher.

I would say so. Justin Simmons and John Johnson might be the best. Will Blackmon had a nice career.

Didnt Jamie SIlva have some good years with Indy.

What was the kids name that played for the broncos? Oversized CB that had a brother on the Hoops team.

Silva only played two years and never started a game. Forgot about Lenny Walls. He wasn't bad, but the current trio of starting safeties (Simmons, Johnson and Harris) are better players. Yiadom still hanging around too and had 8 starts last year.

Pete Mitchell, 114 G, 279 rec, 2885 yds, 15 TD, 10.3 y/rec
Mark Chmura, 89 G, 188 rec, 2253 yds, 17 TDs, 12 y/rec

At best, Chmura was a better blocker and played for relevant teams, Mitchell had the better career as a pass catcher.
