are you sure? he was so far away it's hard to tell who was supposed to cover the receiver, 3rd and 10, were they expecting a QB draw

Nice throw. If you had told me Bordner would have 3(?) catches with a TD and Phillips would have none I would not have believed it.

good for Bordner, he's making the most of his new opportunity,he's really done everything blocked, possession catches and a long TD

Why is Hilliman playing? And do we have any intermediate passes in the playbook?

Murphy had Sherm wide open in the slot. but I suppose a 3 yard run is fine

The coaches made it very apparent here on the sideline yes

I agree a good QB will be a problem. Fortunately most of the teams we play have shitty QBs.

What's the secondary done to earn scorn today?

A good QB would be shredding this secondary

Our defensive backs live in Walsh?

Unless you're confident you'll make it thru the season with only a single QB might as well give Wad some game time in a laffer, Oulow don't know, there seem to be a bunch of decent RBs aheaad of him

I'm hearing that there was a clerical error in the athletic department so Wade and Outlow's redshirt declarations didn't get processed before the deadline. That's why they played today.

The redshirt people are fucking stupid. Seriously, shut the fuck up.

Perfect game. Simmons effed up a coverage and Murphy made a bad pass. Otherwise exactly what I wanted to see.

Overall a good effort by the Eagles. I am really happy about Murphy. Not the greatest arm, but he is a true dual threat. I knew we'd see him run the ball, but I wasn't expecting him to have as much speed. :screamyeagle

On some of the freshman:
Hilliman: We knew Hilliman was going to play before the start of the game. No surprise there and no doubt he is going to help us out during the season. In fact, I think Hilliman may develop into the starter over Willis and Rouse.
Wade: Also not surprising to see Wade's redshirt burned. You absolutely need a second quarterback, especially when your started is dual-threat. Even if Murphy stays healthy, there are likely going to be situations where he gets hit on a run and needs a breather for a couple of plays. You don't want a situation where the first time Wade sees the field is in the third quarter against USC.
Outlow: I am most surprised to see his redshirt burned, but definitely not shocking. Like HIlliman, he can develop into a star running back and given how much we run it makes sense to get him some early exposure. I do fully expect Richard Wilson to redshirt this season.

In the Josh Haden year, Haden and Jet Smith seemed to be the feature backs and then Montel Harris got 3 carries late in the Georgia Tech game. Burning a redshirt early in the year isn't a big deal because there is time for that said player to grow into a role. Hell, Outlow could be Montel Harris or he could end up in the slot. Either way, this move tells me that Daz is saying "I'm going to get the talent and the speed on the field", and I love that. If a redshirt is burned (and not out of necessity) in week 9, then this is a different story. Everyone please calm the F*** down. Up to this point, we have no reason to speculate regarding Daz's personnel decisions.

there was like, a 3 play stretch where BC didn't get many yards running the ball up the gut. That was about it. No reason to show your hand against a UMass team that at no point (even when we had only 6 points) really looked like they could handle the vanilla. And even our vanilla was run out of a bunch of different sets. It was fun to watch.

Bordner and Callinan were fine short and medium, they're still looking for a deep threat but there might not be one on the roster. Bordner lived up to Dazzler's praise.

This and a great turnout for students and normal fans.

Only area of concern is our WRs create no separation whatsoever. The DB play on those deep balls was very much improved. Simmons blowing that coverage kinda marred the safety effort.

Is Delaware really bad? How did Pitt win 62-0?

Agreed I still worry about our pass offense... He has to improve that aspect of his play calling.... I understand he doesn't have the ideal receivers yet too

It's not the play calling

Even in this apple orchard hundreds of miles away, I could feel the heat from the red shirt fueled bonfire. It must have been like Dresden.

RIP red shirts.

Jeers to the staff for not getting the red shirt paperwork submitted before the deadline.
