The success of this offense will probably hinge on Murphy's ability to avoid sacks, keep the play alive, and/or run for yardage when the play breaks down. If he can do this like a legit running QB, than the offense may be surprisingly good. But if he is simply just a slight uptick from Rettig, than the offense will stink.

We know the WRs as a group will stink. We know downfield passing will stink (especially in passing downs). We know the O-line should be fairly good (although not great by BC standards). We know the backs should be fairly talented, although raw, which may not mean much for a back.

The O will receive a proper dry bumming from Clemson, FSU, and USC. But that will be ok. It will also run over UMass, CSU, and whoever is the other cupcake we have in boring predictable fashion. But it will be Murphy's legs that determine how we do in the other 6 games, offensively at least.

The kid from Toughchester played 4 years of non-scholarship (true amateur) Div III, this still counts against 5 years total, he can't play til Soc Sec like Uncle Dave?

The experiment with Uncle Dave was worthwhile, the team was 8-5 his first year and kept getting worse after he was benched.

DomingoOrtiz {l Wrote}:Another transfer I had not heard about: http://www.bceagles.com/sports/m-footbl ... 16650.html

Seyi Adebayo played on the same high school football team as my younger brother. Apparently he was a phenom in high school and played alongside Trent Murphy as a DE. Trent Murphy went on to have an outstanding career at Stanford and was drafted in the second round. I mention this because in high school, it was arguable who was better between Trent and Seyi. However, Seyi was difficult to coach at times and obviously didn't have much of a college football career. That being said, he is an extremely gifted athlete and if the coaches can get through to him, he may even win a starting role.

Thoughts:
-Willis is indeed the KR again
-Murphy is the holder, maybe we'll see a Flutie-esque trick play at some point
-Strachan and Yiadom are not pronounced the way I was pronouncing them in my head at all

Not that it is a surprise on the 2-deep but how are we feeling about Howell?

We've been spoiled with some tremendous kickers (Matich, Freese) and some Ray Finkle DIAF types (Ohliger), we all know they can make a difference in the tight games. Sounds like he Howell can make the kicks but struggled in the scrimmages in live action. I'm curious to see how he does and to see what Daz does when he gets into the fringe areas with 4th and 2 and 4th and 3 situations.

I feel like I survived the Superfan era, therefore, I can handle anything.

I love the pronunciation guide. My favorite was "Blackmon ----- Saul-a-man"

Don't you remember when his uncle played for the Los Angeles Raiders in the 80s? Dick Enberg used to announce the games. Never got too many carriers but I definitely remember his name being called a few times.

Depth chart is up to date with week 1 statistics (game tracker stats .. so they may need adjustments). I also included burnt redshirts. Let me know if anyone else had their RS burned

The announcers at one point said that Gabe McClary was lined up, but considering they got the ball carrier's name wrong at least 45% of the time, I'm not sure it actually happened.

I believe I saw Thaddius Smith out there on one of the 5-WR sets. I think he was Murphy's intended target on the failed 4th down in the first quarter.

not many changes

with the injury to duggan, daniels moves back inside
was bryce listed as the PR for Pitt and he was just removed? would like to see someone else back there
we're probably the only team in the country to list a 3rd string holder
