Is this your guess? Because based on quotes so far, I'm guessing Bobby isn't ready and Alston is going to play.

Yes, Just my guess. I just threw Swigert in there as a starter because I assume he will be when healthy. And I forgot Alston, I'll add him (RB or Slot?)

I think he is listed as a slot receiver.

I also have a hunch the DEs will end up being Moore and Landry. Moore is getting good reviews out of camp.

I thought I read Hilliman was nursing a hamstring injury. He definitely didn't play in the last scrimmage. Anyway, Outlow has a head start on him and if there were a game tomorrow, he would be ahead of Hilliman.

I thought Harrison Jackson was out for the year. They keep saying he is ahead of schedule for his recovery but I thought this year was a scratch

Concur here. Outlow has been in a lot of the pics from camp with the first offense.

I dont see Landry being anywhere on the two deep given that he is injured, unproven and a true freshman.

If he can't walk, he won't start. Otherwise, not so much

Unproven and true freshman >>>>>>> not good at rushing the passer

there is no evidence that he is good or ready to rush the passer at the collegiate level, henceforth even if healthy, he does not see the field until he proves he he is ready. I don't care that he was our biggest national recruit. dominating high school as a senior is along way from walking onto campus, not practicing, then jumping in to be ready.

Freshman play all the time, especially at one of the 5 youngest teams in the BCS conferences where the incumbent is just occupying space. Many freshman will play for BC and Landry is at the top of that list with the WRs and the RBs

This time last year, people were probably crowing about Willis' redshirt

He would've played as a frosh if they had backup QBs.

He's got 7-10 freshmen in spots where they will see substantial time on the field. Landry isn't the first one I would second guess.

"there is no evidence that he is good or ready ..." Are you Daz? Tons of frosh will play for this team, due to its lack of talent in the upper classes. DE is just about the easiest position to play right out of HS. Just put your hand down and go after it. Any decent coach will very quickly know whether or not a true freshman can play at DE by watching practice. Or more correctly stated, whether or not said freshman is a better option than the other DEs on the roster.

I am fairly certain the coaches have already viewed enough evidence to form a judgment on Landry.

and we have all seen enough to form an opinion on the guys in front of him.

This is what I would like to see.

QB- Murphy, Wade
RB- Willis, Rouse, Hilliman/Outlow
WR1- Phillips, McCleary
WR2- Callinan, Crimmins
WR3- Alston, Smith
TE- Giacone, Darmstatter
H-Back/Fullback- Wolford
Tackles- Betancourt and Silberman
Guards- Vardaro and Williams
Center Gallik

DE-Moore, Landry
DE-Mihalik, Kavalec
DT- Abdesmad, Gutapfel
DT-Wujciak, Vitiello
OLB- Keyes, Duggan
MLB- Daniels, Strachan
OLB- Strizak or Joy
CB- Asprilla, Yiadom
CB- Jones, Kamrin Moore
FS- Simmons,Ty-meer brown
SS- Williams, Sylvia

K- Knoll
P- Howell
Return- Alston

NOTES:

Offense: In all honesty, I dont really want to see any snaps from Bordner at WR. No speed at all and has been playing QB all his life. If Bobby is healthy I would love to see him in there a lot in the WR rotation. Early reports are saying Alston is electric and Gabe McClary is having a good camp so we should see him in there. We have some big wideouts which will help out in the run game. At RB we should see a committee approach with Willis getting the most carries. Would like to see Hilliman get all the goal line looks.

Defense: About the Landry talk, you are damn near retarded if you don't think he will be playing a lot this year if healthy. Have not seen a more dominant defensive recruit on film that has come to this school than him and the offers back it up. Daniels should be a 100 tackle guy playing in the middle this year and I love the switch. Keyes should be able to get the same production of sacks as Pierre-Louis and maybe even get more. Defensive Backfield has not been that great last few years but they are a veteran bunch with all having a lot of starting experience. Defensive line has some mammoths with Mihalik, Moore, and Abdesmad so we should be good at stopping the run hopefully.

Freshman: Alston, Landry, Hilliman/Outlow, McCleary, Yiadom, Knoll, seem to be def locks to play this year. Those who I also expect to see time this year are Strachan, Schwab, Sweeney, Smith, Seward, Dawson. All these guys could see time in their natural positions or on Special Teams

don't forget that there's only 2 more weeks to declare redshirts. we'll know a lot more when that deadline passes.

I heard NESN will be televising live the "BC Redshirt Declaration Show". Similar to the NCAA Selection Show, its always exciting to watch the announcements of the Redshirts for the upcoming year.

don't forget that there's only 2 more weeks to declare redshirts. we'll know a lot more when that deadline passes.

I heard NESN will be televising live the "BC Redshirt Declaration Show". Similar to the NCAA Selection Show, its always exciting to watch the announcements of the Redshirts for the upcoming year.

Hosted by Meter and Pete Cronan? With Scott Mutryn interviewing players live from the showers, err, I mean Yawkey Center?

1. Lifka is a DT;
B. Saine is not on the team so you should probably take him off the depth chart;
III. Harrison will probably not play this season.

Hard to believe there will be a 5'6" wide receiver. Dudeck has adequate size and good hands, he's not the fastest guy on the team but he always ends up on the field.

I'm surprised rltbkr isn't weighing in on Porter vs. that Ryan kid on the qb depth chart. Too recent?

The expectation since he signed was that he would play and play a lot as a freshman. However if Landry has not practiced, has an injury, probably isn't in game shape, and hasn't lined up against a college offensive lineman, is the assumption that if Landry is say medically cleared on Wednesday before Umass that he will play in Saturday?

Also, I didn't know red shirts had to be declared before the season. Is that true? Can't a player just not play during the season and be redshirted. For instance if Murphy plays great all year, and Wade never sees a down despite being on the two deep, doesn't he get a redshirt?

Why wouldnt you just declare every freshman a red shirt and then burn them as the year goes by.

I can see declaring who will be redshirted but I dont think it has any official effect.

EDIT:

if you do not play in one season, you do not have to "apply" for a redshirt--you have automatically redshirted. 5 years in which to play 4. No application process or any other declaration by the player or the school is needed--it's automatic.

A poster on TOS said that Landry played in the scrimmage Saturday.

Can't believe TRE is still getting people with the redshirt schtick
