Probably a stupid question, but any tickets for students?

Also, even with all this ticket garbage this is going to be a great night game to watch on the couch / at the bar!

I do not know this option. Please enlighten me. Right now it is me and a buddy, but lakehouse sounds like the ladies may tag along.

we used VRBO and found a 5 BR house on the water that worked out to ~$60 / night / person. It's about a 20 minute drive from the campus. Little further than what I wanted but a big enough house.

Nice, I just saw one 7 miles away and $300 a night.

Nice idea and may prod the wife into coming.

I don't understand this part. Does this mean: "You gave $100,000 and you graduated from 2011-15." Because I can't imagine there are many young alumni slinging around $100,000 donations to meet those criteria. What am I missing?

what's the normal allotment for bc tickets when we play in the cornfield? 2k tickets maybe? understanding that fenway seats less than half as many as the corn palace, i can imagine the allotment we're receiving is not that large at all

i read it as "if you gave $100k (total) over the collective 4 year period of 2011 - 2014 then you receive 2-6 tickets. if you did not do that, you can still qualify for this super 2 ticket advantage by donating $100k before the end of may.

i think you'd be able to find 6 seats together for less than $100k. it might not be in the bc section, but it would be somewhere in the stadium. i would hazard a guess that either way, you have bad sight lines

Per the agreement between ND and the ACC, each team allots 5,000 visitor seats, no matter the size of the stadium, so BC's allotment for this game is 5,000.

I also doubt there's enough big money donors to fill the allotment. BC should have simply announced a lottery for season ticket holders, after first contacting donors, in descending order. Would have minimized all the crying from the :whalepants who are happy to cram themselves into obstructed view seats, and they could have blamed it all on greedy ND.

Or maybe the big money donors will give the tickets to their butlers' butlers. :tophat

It is laugh out loud funny that people will attend this game. I live a half mile from there and you couldn't pay me enough to sit in that stadium with 30,000 Notre Dame fans.

I'll admit I'm a sucker for these "event" games. I've enjoyed the BC hockey games in Fenway despite the even more awful sight lines for hockey. Hopefully football there won't stink too bad.

There will not be 30,000 ND fans at Fenway. With every game ND loses, thousands of seats will become available. This is a very late date for a Shamrock series game coming the Sat before Thanksgiving. A 3 loss ND team will mean 35,000 BC fans in Fenway. ND does not have a strong local following in Boston.

It will be a sell out with an overwhelming ND attendance. If ND has 3 losses, it will be packed with "subway alums" from Massachusetts, CT and NY and anyone who doesn't think there are still legions of that particular species has never been to the ND-Navy game over the last 20 years. If ND is undefeated or 1 loss it will be packed with actual ND grads/donors.

400 dollars (US) per ticket x 5,000 tickets for BC's allotment = 2,000,000 dollars?

I guess it depends. What, if anything, is BC's payday out of this? (I admittedly have no idea). If it is $2 million we're paying for it ourselves. Less and we're giving ND the extra, but if it is more than that BC is at least getting something for its trouble. One way or the other, I "feel" that ND is very good at monetizing their brand, and a great way to do so is to have the "visiting" team's fans pay for their participation.

BC's end is that they get to stay home and take one fewer trip to South Bend than originally contracted. Anything on top of that is gravy.

ND has played many times in Boston and their fans have never showed up in numbers greater than 5,000. There have always been tickets available on the secondary market and ND has had some very good teams, but Clemson has brought more fans. The ticket prices are $225, so its not like this is an affordable ticket and the sightlines are horrible compared to a game at BC. The game will sell out, but it will take a lot of BC fans to fill Fenway. BC is trying to make $175 per ticket, basically legal scalping.

As far as ND vs Navy, Baltimore and Philly along with NYC have good ND followings. Those cities though do not have strong college football to begin with and no resident catholic football schools. If BC did not have a football team then we would probaly all be ND football fans and fill Fenway. A lot of ND subway alumni have died off with Bing Crosby and Bob Hope. Kids today are all wearing NFL jerseys.

If ND brings 10k to Alumni but Clemson brings 20k, did ND bring more than 5k?

i don't know why you bother with eaglekeeper. at some point he's going to declare that they need to tear down the green monstah to fill in the corners at fenway and sell more seats.

How many times in the past 30 years has either BC or ND played football in Fenway Park? The ticket prices will keep many away, but there will plenty others, including myself, willing to pay a premium for this gimmick event game.

And I think we'll be able to test your premise about Philadelphia ND fans this fall when ND comes to play Temple. I doubt Lincoln Financial Field will be sold out for that.
