I remember when I was in school a kid that lived on my hall Freshman year went to try out for the Hockey team. They also had open tryouts. I bet they do this every year. In fact I bet it happens at most schools. I know a kid who tryed out for the Penn State team. He actually made the practice squad but quit soon after.

No he actually had nothing but nice things to say. He just didn't see the point of investing all that time. He said JoePa very involved in practices. That was 8-10 years ago so who knows by now.

When i worked for the team it was basically a call/email whomever would be your position coach and they would have you come in at lunch or before a practice. Most kids don't survive to be invited to tryout at a real practice. This is just to put more bodies on the practice squad though really...

What a shock, the head coach was involved with practice. I never would have imagined that.
