You mean Samford, Minnesota (at home) and SMU is supposed to be impressive?

It's more ambitious than WVU, Western Carolina, So Miss and Fla Atlantic or Navy, Kent St., UVA and Cincy.

Again. The issue is Baylor not facing anyone and them really being the B12 Conf Champ. Baylor was awesome this year and their OOC schedule being as pathetic as Miss State's is frankly inexcusable. Nonetheless, tOSU would lose by double digits to BOTH Baylor and TCU.

It isn't more ambitious though. Each of them faced a mediocre P5 conference team and a couple of cupcakes. There is nothing ambitious about it at all.

Also, I don't think OSU loses by double digits to either of them. I think all 3 would finish 1 score games.

No one is making the case for OSU. They're just better than those 2 overrated Big12 that battled each other to a game in the 60s. All three of those teams suck, but the SEC couldn't take care of business and get a 4th

TCU doesn''t deserve to be in there due to the loss of Baylor. Of course, the committee fucked everything up by ranking them number 3 the previous week.
So, in my mind, it comes down to Baylor and Ohio State.
The 45-0 victory for Ohio State was pretty impressive. Would the outcome have been different had this been a close game?

Bottom line.

The playoffs has to go to 8.

Agreed. The only thing I'll say supports the Committee's decision is that everyone in the Top 4 played 13 games. And, that 13th game was against a good opponent. So, the OOC schedule of Baylor and TCU could look that much worse when you consider the easier... non-conference champ game... road they all faced.

That's a good point, similar resumes for Baylor and TCU (Baylor needed win over top 25 KSU to match TCU) then the H2H was used to break the tie so it basically came down to Baylor vs. OSU.

And Baylor was punished for not even remotely trying to schedule anyone OOC. While every single one of OSU's OOC opponents was better than Baylor's best OOC opponent.

B12 probably fucked themselves by ignoring their own tiebreakers and declaring TCU and Baylor "co-champs," but even if they did have the balls to declare "one true champion," that's Baylor and not TCU and Baylor would still have been the odd team out.

I think now would be a good time to mention the obligatory statement that Memphis is a dirty, dirty program. WAC-level dirty. I do, however, find it comical that these two teams are the ones most often mentioned as B12 targets should it decide to acquire enough teams to match its name.

FYI- Louisville's RB Michael Dyer is academically ineligible for their bowl game against Georgia. I'm guessing he did absolutely no work since I think that's pretty hard to do there.
