TALLAHASSEE, Fla. — Documents obtained by The Associated Press show that Florida State quarterback Jameis Winston has been cleared of the allegations he faced at a student code of conduct hearing this month.

The hearing focused on sexual assault allegations a former student brought against Winston two years ago. A prosecutor decided not to criminally charge him, citing a lack of evidence.

Former Florida Supreme Court judge Major Harding wrote in a letter to Winston that the evidence was “insufficient to satisfy the burden of proof.”

The hearing was to determine whether Winston violated four sections of the code of conduct — two for sexual misconduct and two for endangerment.

The ramifications for Winston ranged from a reprimand to expulsion from school.

The woman can request an appeal within five days.

While I hate Winston, at some point... this is becoming something more than what happened that night. It feels very much like Ferguson or UVA... essentially, some fantastical story that isn't supported by any evidence (something that what 3 or 4 different bodies have now looked at). As far as I can tell, the only truly impartial evidence supports Winston (see the pics from that night at the bar when the accuser was clearly all over him). But... it seems to keep coming up to give crusaders a forum to discuss campus rape/abortion/Republican's war on women/etc.

Article about Jameis Winston's draft prospects, but it quotes Don Brown quite a bit if anyone is interested in the read.

After saying that there was a good chance he was going back to FSU, Jameis' dad has 180'd and is now saying he is going pro. Nothing is ever easy when it comes to that kid.

I posted elsewhere that he reminds me of Jamarcus Russell and Jeff George. He has boundless talent to go with a 2-cent head. He is supposedly smart (so he won't challenge Jamarcus' record-low Wonderlick) but he simply seems to make nonsensical decisions on and off the field. You can live with that in the NFL for virtually any position but QB. Johnny Football being a trainwreck sure as hell isn't helping his cause. He CAN be an excellent NFL QB, but it will require him to mature exponentially. All that said, if I'm Tampa or Tennessee, he's worth rolling the dice on (especially since there isn't a whole lot that you would be passing on in this subpar draft class).

That fumble against Oregon pretty much guarantees he's going to the Jets. If only Rex Ryan was around to get a tattoo of him...

Guy runs a pretty complex pro style offense. No one thought he was book stupid, just lacked any semblance of common sense.

I do remember reading that he was pretty smart, supposedly. I think this was from an ND grad on another message board who was bending over backwards (no, it wasn't Zamhall's daughter) to defend Winston while condemning him because "he has to be intelligent if Notre Dame offered him a scholarship."

Winston will be a huge bust. The fact that some NFL executives don't realize this has me thinking about a career change.
