i didn't read the article so i'm not exactly sure of the phrasing but my guess without knowing the facts is meatbaum is arguing semantics.

daz never called plays but maybe gave more authority to loeffler. the offensive explosion also coincided with aj getting the majority and eventually the vast majority of touches

Little things like managing the clock perfectly on the final series yesterday and not making a spectacle of himself after every penalty or screw-up got me thinking: has Daz progressed from a miserable gameday coach to a mediocre gameday coach? I mean, when was the last remarkable in-game blunder we saw from him? He's even better managing the time outs, which is still so remarkable how stupidly he managed the first few years.

No. Two reasons:

1) This is a routine thing in a routine game - you're saying "he's improved!" but in fact he never should have sucked at it in the first place.
B) Why would you assess the quality of a coach against this Wake team? We find out what kind of a coach he is when lots of things matter in a big game where lots of things matter. This wasn't it. This is like saying a porn star "can act" because he got out his two lines before the music kicks in.

Not certain if I ever posted on this thread. But if this team does not go 8-4 at a minimum Addazio must go. This team is totally unprepared for Purdue. With the IPF recruiting should be good. Bring in a great coach. If you can pay $50 million for the IPF you can pay for a for a staff that can bring this team to the next level. One thing I've learned in years of watching BC football is that you can't really map out the season until the first loss - that first loss almost always describes the remainder of the season. Our program is best interpreted through its losses. Sad that this rule persists from coaching regime to coaching regime, decade to decade.

A quick perusal of the remaining schedule has possible wins against Temple and Louisville... maybe the Carnies... but the rest, including Miami, VT, Clemson, FSU, and Cuse will all be losses.

VT and Clemson will look a lot like today. FSU and Cuse will rhyme on a play-to-play basis with today but the score won't be as wide. Mods, can we change the name of today's gameday thread to 'VT Gamdeday thread...', 'Clemson Gameday thread...' to save everyone the trouble of posting again?
