8 days for the cross country flight to USC. I don't have a lot of confidence in a W certainly, but it is arguably as good a reason as any for the Friday night game.

Reasons why this schedule sucks:
1. Only 1 home game in October (this seems to happen every year. why?);
b) Home game on the Saturday of Labor Day weekend;
III. A home night game.

The year for USC to beat Oregon and Stanford and play for the MNC, was this year. Kiffin faces a major rebuild of the team for 2013. BC will be facing a USC team very similar to the 2012 Miami team they faced (lots of 4 and 5 star players, almost all of them 18 or 19 years old.) So yeah, BC will be out athleted by USC, but BC will be a much older and veteran team (not that that helped very much vs Miami last year.)

The 2013 team is the most veteran team since 2007. There are 4 or 5 four-year-starters on offense and defense including the most important position. And this schedule is much-MUCH wussier than the teams that Matt Ryan had to play against in 2007.

1. I feel the same way and have been asking the same question for as long as I've followed this team.
b) Unfortunately, I don't see this changing, especially if BB is serious about this being the last year of only playing six home games on his watch.

Part of the fun of watching it should be that it doesn't stink. I think the biggest reason for record pessimism, other than concerns about Addazio's gameday coaching which I don't subscribe to yet, is that we have two healthy RBs on the roster in Finch and Williams (Dudek should not be a RB) who have done anything as college players and neither of whom has shown any ability to be the guy in the past, Finch because of fumbling issues and Williams because he's unable to do anything between the tackles. My biggest question mark going into this season for the offense is whether Finch's control issues were caused by Spaz's lack of faith and/or the Spaz staff's inability to develop any players ever on offense, or whether he is simply bad at holding the football. If Finch can put it all together, he can be very productive and a lot of my offensive concerns are gone. Or, I guess alternatively if Williams can be effective with better run blocking in front of him.

i don't care if the offense throws the ball on every down because we dont have any viable running backs. i only care that the offense scores touchdowns, don't give a damn how they get them

Agreed. I was thinking four wins before I saw this joke of a schedule. Now I think they can get five.

I continue to think 6 wins a reasonable goal/expectation. I think expecting 8 wins off a 2 win year is pretty far fetched (although Oregon State did just pull something similar off). The thing to me is 8 wins seems to be expecting BC to win every close game, which simply isn't realistic. I think all of Wake, MD, NC State, VT, Syracuse and UNC will be close and hope/expect us to pull out 3 of those 6. Add in Nova, Army, and NM State and that's 6 wins.

Two open dates for everyone. I think I like where ours fall, the week before FSU and the week before UNC. Plus an extra day to prep for USC because of the Friday Wake game (although I hate the idea of Friday games).

I figured we'd someday schedule Nova in hoops, but not football. Wow. Given that half my extended family went to Nova this could have been an awesome trip, but August 31 sucks to take the whole family up for a game. Ugh.
