I actually really wanted Lembo to be the next BC coach. You can criticize me all you want for that, but I know people who have played and worked under Lembo and they have nothing but positive things to say about him.

Despite my desire for Lembo to be the next head coach, I would have been fine if Diaco had gotten the job.

I get being responsible, not taking marching orders from a bunch of yahoos on a website, but at some point, usually after a 2-10 season and fans jumping ship left and right, you have to start paying attention to the masses. Or at least listening. BC needed a good hire not just for results, but to help soothe the remaining fans, and its as if they purposely fucked us.

Sometimes I wonder if these people pay as much attention as regular fans. I mean, if B2 were, then he would have to know that the going nowhere coach of a shitty 4-7 team would be a non-starter.

Bates said all the right things for the past two weeks. We all thought BC was going to finally make a hire that would make a splash and get people excited. Then this dipshit went out and did the exact opposite of what we wanted and expected. What he really did for the two weeks leading up to this was tell us what we wanted to hear then pulled this fat Ital rabbit out of his ass. Fuck Bates and fuck BC.

I don't have too much else to add. As many have already said, this strikes me as a cheap, safe hire and someone who can potentially get the program back to a long string of 8-4 and crappy bowl games, not someone who can win the ACC. That's really too bad, because they had an opportunity to make a splash.

If Bates had made an exciting hire like Diaco I would have become a season ticket holder again but I don't see that happening.

I will say what I said when Spaz got the job: I hope he proves me wrong. Good luck Coach Daz, you've got a lot of work to do.
