This horse's ass is Spaz but only 10 years younger. Have you ever seen an interview with him? He's a complete moron. Thanks for fucking this up Bates. I am really think this ends my relationship with Boston College football. Fuck, fuck, fuckity, fuck.

I was hoping to be excited by the hire. I'm kind of meh but not losing my shit like most of the people here. He'll be an upgrade over Spaz. It'll be nice to have someone high energy in the program again. I just pray that he shitcans the entire staff (other than maybe Al and Martin)

He really mostly is.

1) Conservative playcalling;
2) bad press conferences;
3) appears to be an idiot.

The only difference is he has a reputation as a recruiter, but... so did Spaz according to Mike Farrell.

My sources inform me that this is all part of a negotiated settlement of legal suit threatened against BC and former coach Frank Spaziani as a result of a physical altercation between Spaziani and former BC OC Kevin Rogers. In order to avoid a massive liability suit, BC agreed to:

1. Fire Spaz;
2. Hire Addazio, and whatever staff he chooses to bring with him;
3. Release RB Montel Harris in order for him to transfer to Temple to play his final FB eligible year;

GDF, upon learning of the settlement negotiated secretly by Pres. Leahy, resigned unexpectedly.

BC welcomed the news stating that this settlement was not only in the best interest of BC financially, but it will technically not force Chase Rettig to learn yet another system under a fifth different OC, as he has already been mentored by Rogers, despite the tenure being a short one.

According to his rivals profile he was/ is a very good recruiter, ever heard of Aaron Hernadez? because Adazzio brought him to Florida

Yeah but who was in the final 3. I thought we had a 72 page thread about how important that was.

it will be interesting to find out what he is being paid. While there were other candidates I would have preferred, i think this is actually a decent hire. He re-energizes the program big time. He has to bring in a good QB coach (not Rogers) and defensive coordinator (not Heater). We may actually get a running game again.

I was never that gung ho on Diaco or Golden. I actually think Adazzio may be a better coaching version of Golden (never been impressed with Miami last 2 years on the field).

I know I am in the very small minority - perhaps 2%.

Yeah I'm sure it was that chubby eyetalian and not the smokeshows, national championships, joke classes etc. It's a factory, not BC. Two different ends of the spectrum.

if I'm missing sarcasm it's your own fault for not red fonting it

I am not as upset as 90% of this board. Quite frankly I like him better than Lembo or Kromer. Of course, I would have MUCH preferred Diaco.

I am giving Addazio a chance. He'll bring energy to the program and is a good recruiter. He isn't your typical "old guy" but rather someone who I think will fire up his players. We'll see...definitely unexpected but I am going to take a wait and see approach.

As upset as I am with this hire, for the rest of the day I'm going to suspend disbelief and think that he can be an energetic recruiter and CEO type who will let his demi-god-lie coordinators devise aggresive schemes.

And I bet he retains the following coaches: , Doug Martin, Mike Siravo, Sean Devine, Aaron Smith, and Jim Bollman.

There is nothing good about this hire.

What is Bates' email address? I have an old email that I sent to Gene after the Spaz hiring that I'd like to re-fire. Thanks.

Very curious how you would look at Golden vs. Addazzio and come up with Addazzio as the better?

In five-plus decades as a fan, I can't think of a greater disappointment.

Through sheer negligence I hadn't gotten around to renewing the annual contribution to BC -- that I had been withholding pending the GDF and Spaz departures. Now...?

Wish the team and the new coach well, but the Temple (!) coach wasn't what was so desperately needed. Bates is off to a terrible start.

The slight, ever so miniscule belief that something like this could happen made me drop my initial #FireDSpaz donation from $250 to $25. Figured I'd make a bigger splash soon.

Now, I wish I could move the decimal place another spot or to the left on that last one.........

This guy went 4-7 at temple last year. How can they honestly state in a press release that he is a winner.

This has Leahy's fingerprints all over it. Retain half the coaching staff (to avoid buyouts) and replace frank's salary.

Honestly who the hell is making these decisions? Don't they realize they are going to cutting sports in 2 years when the donations to flynn fund dry up completely?

Website will stay up, but i can't blame people for not even bothering to visit. I will cherish those 2 years of excitement under Jags (under chevy's EI). Who knew we would never see it again.

Coming in the Top 25. Addazio at #17 on Coaches Hot Seat after going 4-7 at Temple.
