A month later and the Steve Addazio hire still looks like absolute crap. It's testament to how low he have fallen that we must force ourselves to get excited about hiring the 4-7 "enthusiastic" head coach of Temple University and UCONN's defensive coordinator, who we have made into Kirby Smart in our minds.
For the love of God, Ryan Day is our OC and Bill McGovern is our LBs coach. Haven't we been down this path? Didn't Temple just go down it last year? What the hell was Brad Bates thinking?
BC won 2 games this past season following a 4-win campaign in 2011.
If that is not grounds for hiring a proven turnaround specialist like Mike MacIntyre (he was available before Colorado came knocking), Darrell Hazell (also Purdue's second choice and available for a week) or Willie Taggert (he took the USF job for god's sake) then I don't know what is.
The ship has sailed, I know. Get on board the
SS Dazzle or stay the f@#$ off. I get it. But I don't have to be happy about it. Temple lost 5 out of its last 6 last year, which is dreadful. Look at the scores of those games vs Big East opponents and the results are even more disturbing. It got beat by Maryland. Spaz beat Maryland.
New Year's rant over. Sorry. Proceed.
