I think 5-7 is probable, but FSU has the talent to outplay a BC team regardless of coaching. Pitt does not. That game is winnable, although likely a L.

Odell is 3-0 plus a bowl win. So I woundnt call them “coachless”. He made adjustments that Taggart was not willing to make e.g. playing that QB transfer from Louisville that gashed us for 2 TDs plus starting Blackmon over the other guy. So the above is a false narrative.

Why didn’t he get the job over Taggart if he was better? Do you think he will get the job now?

He’s a career assistant there. 26 years I think. As to whether he is better than Taggart, he does have a better winning percentage. But these questions are irrelevant. Bottom line is that he put his players in a position to succeed which is more than I can say for the BC coaching staff.

Career assistant. NOT a head coach. Not sure what I said was a false narrative. Still sad that he got the win over Daz. Then again he was working with better talent. As many have said, it’s not the X’s and O’s it’s the Jimmys and the Joes.

pitt is winnable but they won't. we've seen a decent amount of quit under daz (see: cuse last year)

5 wins means finishing the season with 3 straight losses and (most likely) no bowl invite. To the extent that there can be pressure to make a change, there would be. But there was no change in basketball after last season so I'm not sure either.

ACC plus ND has 10-12 bowl slots (the exact number varies depending on a lot of factors). First tie breaker for 5-7 teams is APR. who in the ACC has a better one? I’m not saying it’s definitely going to happen but it’s definitely within the realm of possibility

EDIT. Meant to add ND plus 12 teams still eligible for those spots.

1) You said he’s not winning six... remains to be seen. PITT isn’t all that great
2) you said FSU didn’t have a coach... Odell has proven to be more than a capable coach winning 4-5 games and losing none over his 2 stints

I said they didn’t have a HEAD coach. Jesus Christ. I’m struggling to see why this is hard for you. They don’t have a HEAD coach. “Interim” or whatever doesn’t mean much. Unless you’re saying that a HEAD coach doesn’t matter if you have capable assistants?

The Dazzler also has a loss to a fired coach (Cuse) on his resume. He is a special kind of terrible.

No, I was saying whether Odell has “interim” or not is irrelevant. He’s proven he can get results as a coach regardless. apparently, better than the Taggart guy who used to have HEAD (no interim) coach in his name or the guy he just beat that still does.

Would there be any greater demonstration of what a joke the bowl system is that a 5-7 BC team that allowed 4 opponents 500 yards plus against their defense get "rewarded" with a bowl invite?
