Almost the entire board was ready to burn down Alumni with the news. I think some people softened with the initial press conference the next day and some subsequent media interviews, but this place was a cesspool of despair for a solid 24 hours.

few comments:

1. i think at that point the only type of coach who wouldve satisfied me (and probably the majority of the board) wouldve been an urban meyer type
2. even after the initial anger, i still didnt expect him to do as well as he has
3. i still have concerns about him getting us to the 10-2 season, but it does seem his basement is tobias 2.0, which is something i will take after the spaz years.
4. i am still of the belief that roman will make a great college coach

This got me thinking.
If Daz is :toby 2.0, then our WTF win is USC. What would be our WTF loss?
Discuss.

I think, now with hindsight, and especially in light of their subsequent loss to Air Force, Colorado State is officially looking like a WTF. Especially at home, especially with the spectacular choke at the end...two 4th down plays.

Colorado State is not a WTF loss. Game was meaningless.

We've pretty much exhausted this topic recently.

Goes to show you how difficult head coaching hires are. Daz is bad but there could be worse. Unless we are going to make a homerun hire, we need to be very careful here.

And the list does not include Diaco, who many of us wanted and a very good "could be worse" example. Daz is a very good "be very careful" example.

wow, I was way more negative at first on him than I remember being. I always saw myself as a bit more supportive as most although nowhere near the level of NotoriousOrange. The Diaco thing was regrettable.

Syracuse would've made too much sense. He would have partnered with the Tubasteak gang to create some rivalry trophy with Wake.

Greg Roman is still only 46 and turned the grossly inaccurate Tyrod Taylor into a serviceable QB over the past 6 years. He was also TEs coach when Stanford ran the same formations as the Dazzler.
