Dr. Lou has never quite recovered from the 1993 game...whenever it comes up you can see more foaming drool than usual trickle from the corners of his mouth.
I still have the telecast of that game, including what i refer to as the NBC crowning ceremony where Lou gleefully alludes to how ND had won the NC in the prior weeks victory over Fla St.....the telecast then cuts to a steely eyed Coughlin who guarantees that his young men will play very hard in the game....It is a classic telecast, including pregame scenes from the grotto prior to FSU game with hundreds of lit candles, then a shot of the single candle lit prior to the game with the Eagles.....Classic "pride comes before the fall" stuff.
