New AD's Impact on Fan Safety

Postby cteagle05 on Tue Aug 21, 2012 2:02 pm

My primary concern with turnover at the AD position is, obviously, bear attacks. We haven't had a bear attack in Alumni in nearly 15 years. I think we can all agree that Gene and his staff have done an excellent job keeping the bears at a safe distance allowing us to enjoy our mediocre-to-poor gameday experience with peace of mind.

Of all the candidates that have been mentioned so far, I haven't seen any indication on their focus on or experience in preventing bear attacks. Marketing I've seen. Finance I've seen. Athletic administration I've seen. But it doesn't seem any of them treat fan SAFETY as a priority.

I hope the board and Fr. Leahy perform their due diligence on this important topic before hiring a new AD.

This is something like grad rates which Flip likes to take credit for but really was an issue BC resolved long before he arrived. There hasn't been a bear attack in Alumni since TRE and Chris Huang were barred from the Stadium in 1994.

I'd like Bill Murray. The biggest issues, in my opinion, are the Conte Ghosts, and frankly, we need someone with proven ghostbusting experience.

now in the street there is violence
and, and a lots of work to be done
no place to hang out our washing
and, and i can't blame all on the sun
good god we gonna rock down to electric avenue
and then we'll take it higher
