BCMurt09 {l Wrote}:How long is our contract with UA for? We need to get away from them and move over to Nike ASAP.

For as much as people want to dump on UA, the apparel they sell to the public is actually quite nice and the ability to be focused on BC as a result of having a smaller roster of schools is something Nike cant offer.
HJS {l Wrote}:UA couldn't care less about BC. You won't see them do shit for the unis until the contract is renewed. They ain't going to put any time, effort or resources into BC unless they know they are going to keep the school. I believe we have something like 18-months or so left on the deal. Basically, look for something to be done next Summer or BC will put itself out to market (which is probably the smarter move).

BC has a recent history of constantly switching suppliers (presumably to get the best contract possible) for training gear and uniforms. I think during my time at BC we cycled through starter, champion, reebok, etc. recently, nike, addidas, and under armour. i suspect when this contract runs out we'll switch again.

We ran through Starter and Champion pretty quickly. But, we stayed with Reebok for something like 15 years (Hasselbeck's dad being the sales rep). I don't believe we were ever with Adidas or Nike (outside of a sport that Reebok didn't have (like hockey) or maybe a half-fag "sport" like cross-country).

Would send a message that we are the polar opposite of our wearing conference mates. I rock that shit around town in the winter with my mercedes SUV. North Face is for noobs.
HJS {l Wrote}:In truth, the brand is immaterial. It really comes down to what type of attention they are going to give the school. Reebok gave BC a lot of attention right through the time they went bankrupt and were acquired by Adidas. However, part of their problem was that there was very little Reebok could propose. BC's colors and a slanty letters were its own proprietary design that they essentially licensed it to Reebok. The move to UA (with Reebok essentially closing down its college operation) was supposed to have been made because they promised to make BC a priority. UA had only a handful of all-in colleges and BC was something they said they would spend a lot of time and effort on. That didn't happen.
Who knows where they go from here, but at this point, it probably makes sense to either go totally unique where you are assured a lot of attention (Warrior Sports, Performance Sports (which owns Bauer/Maverick/Easton/Combat/Inaria/Cascade), New Balance, Puma, Saucony, Converse or back to Reebok) or join Nike and give their team of mad scientists a crack at it.
Supahfan99 {l Wrote}:I think BC had nice uniforms during the Matt Ryan era with the on the sleeves. The slanty numbers seemed to be ok and made BC unique. I think a reasonable thing to do would be to put some wings on the helmets like the Philadelphia Eagles do to add more of a unique look for BC, I think it has the possibility of looking nice and should be explored at least in any sort of uniform redesign. If the helmet is changed, it has to be done right or else you come out looking like an Arena Football League team like a certain stuck-in-the-AAC team does.

1) uniforms (colors, brand, slanty vs. non-slanty numbers)
2) superfan shirts (color, slogan on back)
3) retractable domes
4) condoms in porn

I see nothing wrong with uniform discussion. Also, in case you haven't noticed, this place is almost as dead as EagleInsider. Not many topics and things to discuss.

We could discuss MilitantEagle's rampant douchebaggery

warrior is new balance's "brother" brand (because new balance is for chicks, dudes like hansen that run in circles, and bignick's baseball fantasies). i think they would be an impressive choice but neither brand has any foothold in football.
that said, new balance has announced their intention to become the #3 athletic brand and i view football as a great step in that direction.
maybe one of you a-holes up in boston should stop by their headquarters and try to point this out to them

When FireSpaz.com was a thing, the address on the website was the New Balance HQ, so there clearly is some interest in the program in that building.
The over the top whiteness of our athletic programs would be completely irreversible if we ever switched to New BalanceAdamBC {l Wrote}:TobaccoRoadEagle {l Wrote}:that said, new balance has announced their intention to become the #3 athletic brand and i view football as a great step in that direction.
