I'm not fan of @BCGeneD, but I find it hard to believe that he doesn't care about winning. If anything he cares too much and gets into meddling with coaches too much. The Jags hire was a high risk/high reward and he hated that his first big time hire saw BC as a stepping stone to the NFL. I think he was truly hurt by Jags calling his bluff about the Jets job, so instead of going with another high risk/high reward candidate, he went in the opposite direction and went with someone who he thought was a safe pick. Making such a big deal about Jags' lack of "loyalty" meant that he just had to give Spaz the longest possible leash and every benefit of every doubt.
Not that this excuses @BCGeneD, because he totally painted himself into this corner, but I don't think BC's current problems are because the Athletic Director accepts 4-8.
