It's not really about Davis (who could be a nice 3rd Down back and returner... but at the end of the day was only offered by teams in the NNNBE). At least he gave the coaches the courtesy to go on Rouse (whose only other offer was Albany... suckit teddy).

While our record the past 2 years was deplorable, it was only 2 years in the entire life of these kids. The coach was fired and a new chapter was to begin. That's not a hard sell for an academic institution in a major conference. I don't think any of us were expecting miracles (like what's happening in Ole Miss), but I don't think anyone expected the brutalizing that we have been subjected to from the MAC and NNNBE. It is insane to think that we would have been better off this LOI Day if we had just kept Spazoo.

Given that my alma mater would have beaten BC this year, I'd say Albany is a comparable offer.

[Not ripping on you] Do you honestly think the 2 years prior to signing day are not more valuable than the 16 prior for a 17 or 18 year old high school kid when talking about the performance of the potential schools? My belief is that you are severely underplaying how toxic the brand is right now.

Of course you can, 9903's ridiculousness is the worst WAWWA artificial lowering the bar nonsense there is. How come TOBY was able to recruit after 2 season of Henning and the GAMBLING SCANDAL? Daz's epic fail since taking over is historic. Will he recover? Will he quickly learn from his already considerable missteps? I don't know.

On an aside, the Recruiting Coordinator should be announced by this weekend if it was someone he always wanted but promised the current school he would wait on hiring. You know... someone like Stan Drayton at OSU. I have no inside info, but this is the only thing that makes sense to me (as to why the extraordinary delay). If we wind up just promoting some Grad Assistant, we might as well just spend the next 3 years rooting against the Philadelphia Eagles.

Yep, but Purdue has an up and coming coach in Hazell, not Temple's bombastic 4-7 coach. Also look what Taggert did at USF -- flipped a 4 star DE who was committed to FSU. Maybe Dazzler focused more time and energy on 2014 knowing that he only had a couple spots open for this class. Hope there is some explanation. Trying to stay positive, but wow.
