I really don't understand the staff's persistence in recruiting the state of Georgia.

they'll probably just do what they did last year and offer about 3-6 Georgia kids, but never followup in any way, shape or form.

We have an illustrious history of recruiting GA QBs. I haven't decided yet whether he'll be the next Ross Applegate or the next Drew Little.

how could you forget Justin Tuggle?

Meanwhile, in Texas, during he past 30 days they've received 11 verbals, including 8 4 stars and a 5 star. I know it's apples and oranges to BC (each any every player is from Texas, among other apple-ly differences), but good God.

Justin Rowland from Rivals tweeted Isaacs, Hurst, and Montgomery all on campus this weekend. Claims Isaacs is soft verbal as of now.

Montelus as well. I think Isaacs has been a soft verbal for a while so that's nothing new.

Ebenezer Ogundeko (Brooklyn, N.Y./Thomas Jefferson) decommitted from UConn on Saturday.

"I decided to wait out my options," Ogundeko said via text message.

The decommitment does not come as much of a shock as Ogundeko was a soft verbal to the Huskies from the time he committed on Feb. 26. He said shortly after committing he still planned to listen to other teams.

Ogundeko has FBS offers from Arizona State, Boise State, Boston College, Maryland, Rutgers and Syracuse on top of his UConn offer. He planned a visit to Rutgers on Mar. 10 but canceled that visit.

From Farrell:

The Next CommitmentBC is really hoping it's Maurice Hurst. I have heard from a source that he could be close to committing and if does I think Jack McDonald follows as the two players are close (played basketball together for years) and the familes are close. Then Tevin Montgomery could fall into place and eventually John Montelus, but he will be tougher because of all the national offers he has. But Hurst is the key, BC needs him to be leader of the pack.

There s a big time LB, Matt Rolin, visiting the BC campus for the football scrimmage today. I know that Kuechly and Herzlich were on campus earlier this week. If Spaz had any brains, he'd make sure that Matt "bumps into" them during the scrimmage.

The usual BS in the Montelus interview from TOS except that he says that he Hurst & Montgomery are very tight. Yukon is the only other to offer all 3. He will not decide this summer.

Well... Since Spaz couldn't be bothered offering Matt Ryan's other cousin, why the FUCK should that family pass on much better opportunities (read any FBS offers) to help out Spaz D. Filippo.

No introductions were needed with quarterback John Loughery of Wayne, Pa. He’s a cousin of Atlanta Falcons quarterback Matt Ryan, who starred at Boston College when Swepson was an assistant there.

Swepson said he has watched Loughery, a pro-style quarterback, grow up during the past decade at prospect camps. Boston College tried to bring in Loughery as a preferred walk-on.

“The kid’s a 6-foot-5 gunslinger,” Swepson said. “I think my alma mater (Boston College) missed on him. This kid’s coming in here with a chip on his shoulder.”

I don't know the family tree but this means an uncle or someone is John Loughrey as well - basically a BC family.

This kid was saying BC was a favorite very loud and clear until the Day/Brock/Sirmans losses. Then he said the new staff hadn't really contacted him.

To lose out on a Ryan cousin at OL is terrible. Yet we couldn't throw one of the banked scholarships at Loughrey JR to lock up McGlinchy?!

Not sure what happened, but something happened recently making people much more confident he'll be at BC come the fall (sounded like possibly a waiver or something). So unclear but good news on that front.

Actually, I think it's probably Whitey McWhiterson. (or at least that's how I remember his name.)

I don't know, they're going pretty hard after Whito Whitzeretti out of South Hackensack.

Some standard recruiting news:

- MD OL Moise Larose is favoring Rutgers
- IL TE Nathan Marcus is heavily favoring Vandy
- MA OL Jack McDonald visited Duke for their spring game but supposedly BC is still in "good shape" with him
- PA QB Damion Terry is about to visit MSU, where it's very possible he might commit

Two things. One, I was posting what MF said. I personally think MHJ's interest in BC is overstated and doubt we land him. With that said, I don't think the OSU offer changes much. If he picks OSU, I can't believe we would be his #2 choice. I think offers more along the lines of PSU/ND/Stanford would be ones where we might be bumped to runner-up.

His interest isn't overstated I can say that from talking to him. Still think we've got a pretty good lead for Hurst at this point.
