FWIW: ESPN says RD ran a 4.58

It doesn't matter what AW runs because he takes his apparent speed and runs right into the back of the OL. Fucking Dudeck, a 2* FREE SAFETY proved to be more effective than AW this year. Deuce and TK are so far ahead of AW at this point it's comical.

I am now declaring blue as the exaggeration color. Which leads me to my next comment.

You forgot to put that statement in blue.

I'm also colorblind. If that's not blue, then fuck

There were only like 6 kids in this class that bigger programs wanted. Our super-terrific, legendary recruiter new head coach already lost one. Callinan and Daniels seemed underwhelmed by Bates' pick. I can see Dazoo losing half the only kids that really mattered. Which... would be par for th course for the Bosom Buddies.

Are you saying Geiger was one of those kids? I'm confused.

Most of our recruits like Addazio. If anything, LeShun Daniels is less likely to transfer now than he was two weeks ago. We still might lose him, but he was looking around before we made the HC hire.

Go find a corner to cry. You don't add anything to the Board.

Michael Geiger was actually probably the most talented player in this class. He was the #1 rated kicker according to rivals. That's a sucky loss.

After the SuperFan and seeing what Freese can do, it is a huge loss. I have no faith in Adazzio if he cant keep the few guys we have around.

According to MattTheEagle (our very own retarded Merryman), losing Geiger isn't a big deal. But, getting a commitment from the #1 kicker in the nation was HUGE.

This really unlike when he said that he loved the Stank Daziani hire so long as he didn't bring his coordinators from Temple. But, is excited to see what Chase Rettig can do with Ryan Day calling plays.

I am still not sold on the Addazio hire but if he can grab a few good recruits over the next few weeks, it would go a long way to making me feel a bit better about the guy.

for me its the opposite (if this is the opposite). ive come around enough on his recruiting. for me its all about the type of staff he can put together, which seems to be off to a very slow start with day.

There's no way around this one. Geiger wouldn't have been offered if they didn't need a kicker this year, and this is a huge loss. For everyone who says we have Howell for 3 years, if he's so good why didn't he punt this year over walk on Gerald levano who really was not good. I personally have no idea about Geigers offers (ea claims he had no others but I would imagine the world of kickers is less transparent) but it could just be a matter of taking any oother decent offer that came along and avoiding this shit storm.

As for the Addazio argument, recruiting is far and away a priority in relation to his staff. SA could put together a great staff but they can't coach up shit players (ie the level of talent we have right now). Next year should be another decent year recruiting wise in Massachusetts so he'll have his chance to prove he's a good recruiter as he claims (in regards to the staff, if he keeps Devine or Commisiong I'm going to sour on Addazio immediately. The only hold overs here should be Desai and Washington, that's it).

I am not sure how much we needed a kicker in this class so hopefully we can use the spot for a higher need. By my math, we only have 17 spots for this class and now have 16 commits.

Exactly. And if Al Louis Jean is so good, why didn't he take Spiffy Evans' spot at WR? Spiffy was bad, too.

You people are crazy as fuck.

I thought the number was higher for this class, around 21-23.

I agree to the extent that there are much greater areas of need in this class, but based on the fact that Howell didn't play this year does concern me (granted I am holding some reservations since :spaz3 was in charge) and may raise some questions as to if he is the successor to Freese in the long run (or if he projects as solely a punter). The fact that Addazio couldnt keep one of the higher rated players in this class ( for his position) has to raise some eyebrows as he claims that recruiting is his strong suit.

Not that this is the only solution, but Sean Duggan was a consistent kicker from w/in 40 yards in high school under pressure.

If it makes you feel any better, shortly after the Spaz firing someone from the Globe suggested Ryan Day would make a good head coach.

Yeah...I know that won't make you feel better, but it is kinda fun yanking your chain.

I get 69 players on scholarship and that does not include any former walkons, Shinskie or Kaleb Ramsey. So it would actually be 16 spots available (I missed Matthews the first time).

Spaz for whatever reason liked to offer kickers a year before we truly needed them (see Freese and Howell redshirting). If Howell is a decent punter, we don't need a kicker in this class. While it's disappointing to lose someone who is clearly good, it happened so fast that I don't find it a knock on Addazio. However, if we start losing guys like Willis and Daniesl after Daz gets in-home visits, that's a very bad sign.
