Buddy Brown would be a HUGE commit. I don't think he's leaving though...he said he'd stay if Rhule was hired.

Just saying but there's a reason Brown ended up with Temple. Now Augustas Edwards on the other hand I'd take in a heartbeat.

Edwards seems like he would be a really nice alternative to fill the kind of style that Daniels has, that being a bigger, power runner. With Willis on board and SA targeting a few guys in Florida (Webb, Davis, and Coppet whom we seem to be in good shape with) there may not be a ton of wiggle room at the position.

Your saying that Addazio did an excellent job recruiting him right? For those who don't know, Brown was offered by half the big ten and half the ACC along with a few Pac 12 teams among others

Nope what I'm saying is he couldn't have committed to most of those offers when he committed to Temple.

If Daziani wants to run his preferred offense in the next 3 years, he should go out and grab Jacoby Brissett. The kid is transferring from Florida and is a true soph. He could transfer to BC, redshirt while Rettig starts his final year, and then have 2 years as a potential/likely starter. Which then sets things up nicely for the best of the 2014 QBs to be on track to be his back-up for a year or two followed by 2 years as a starter.

Even if this is true, I'm sure he could have committed to USF or West Virginia. Not that that would mean BC could touch him, but you make it sound like it was Temple or nothing. I'd heard that it was in large part due to wanting to stay close to south jersey. Rutgers seems to have a more recognized LB commit.

I couldn't tell you about USF but was told by a good WVU source back before he committed anywhere he didn't have a commitable to WVU. A lot of those offers were verbal.

He cannot have been too stupid or too badly behaved to get into WVU but then get into Temple (even keeping in mind its for football and this is by no means a commendation of Temple's selectivity for athletes see Pierce, Bernard, but rather is saying WVU does not have standards at all see Jones, Pacman and Henry, Chris), so are you saying this was a case where they weren't commitable offers or weren't offers at all? I recall TGOSB saying at times that if a kid says he has an offer they can't verify so they just add it.

As far as I know he technically had the offers but couldn't commit. From what I've been told PSU and RU both said no. Don't get me wrong he had other offers and wanted to be closer to home but he couldn't take a decent amount of the offers shown on his pages as far as I know.

As I posted above, if Daz wants to run the spread successfully at some point over the next 3 years, he needs to make a run at him. It actually should be a pretty easy sell. He redshirts next year (when he would never start over Chase anyway) and then be the runaway favorite to be the starter for the next two years.

Don't think Brissett wants to come up here think the leader is UL. Redshirts while Bridgewater plays next year then takes over that offense with a ton of weapons.

If Daz wants to run the spread here, he's gonna have to have a breakthrough now: either landing a monster transfer like Brissett or landing a kid who shockingly becomes the next RG3. Otherwise, he better get used to drastically conforming his offense. If he waits to rely on the 2014 recruiting class to bring in "his" QB, he likely won't be around to see it to fruition.

He's not coming here

His top choices for a new school are West Virginia, Louisville, Arkansas and North Carolina State, a source said.

I guess Robert Davis referred to his USF offer as a "dream offer."

Apparently, Coppett doesn't have an offer from BC anymore. He's now considering Indiana, Bowling green, Houston, South Florida.

The Rowland guy from EA says he doesn't think BC is recruiting any Temple players (including Terry) because the staff doesn't think they are good enough to play for BC. While this is conjecture and (I doubt true in some cases), it is still better than the perceived attitude of the former staff.

eagle9903 {l Wrote}:The Rowland guy from EA says he doesn't think BC is recruiting any Temple players (including Terry) because the staff doesn't think they are good enough to play for BC. While this is conjecture and (I doubt true in some cases), it is still better than the perceived attitude of the former staff.

I thought Rowland just wrote an article within the last week on EA about how Coppet still had BC as his favorite.

I have no idea about Coppett, I assume GT Bosox got his information from 247? As they tweeted Coppet is no longer considering BC. He's not a Temple recruit though.

Whether Daz is not recruiting Temple players out of respect or because he thinks BC should do better it is the same result (that we ain't poaching).

Further, such a stance kind of undermines the whole Daz is a great recruiter angle. There have been more than a few comments about Daz assembling a solid class at Temple... how it rivals ours... imagine what he will be able to do here, etc. Well, now we are hearing, that all those players suck and aren't good enough to join Spazoo's last class.

I agree that the second part (although I don't remember people saying Temple's class was as good as ours) makes the idea that the Temple players aren't good enough (as opposed to respect - btw you can't say Addazio is a mercenary fraud but also say he is not poaching temple recruits out of respect) cold comfort.

That being said, if Addazio has to keep Spaz commits by virtue of an order from his superiors, which wouldn't surprise me at all, then I could see that Temple doesn't have players - at positions of need- that are of the quality we would take. That possibility is logically consistent with Addazio being a better recruiter than Temple's normal and still not wanting to take players from there now due to skill level. Also, Temple is a year removed from the MAC so it is also possible and should be definite that the best recruiting class ever for Temple still only has 3-4 players we would want at BC in a normal class.

Yes, info is from 247. So, take it with a grain of salt.

If true about Coppett, I would assume that makes Webb our prime RB target?

There are a whole lot of jokes to be made from this...I'm surprised nobody took the bait.

Fitch seems like he was pretty involved in recruiting Woulard. I doubt he comes to BC, but interesting.

that's interesting. He didn't drop BC?

99% of the time, it means that BC could not get the kid thru admissions. BC stayed with him until the bitter end. BC needs to land another RB, as we have 2 broken down RB's and one who already had a knee surgery. I like the Willis kid alot, but we need another one.

If Brian Kelly leaves for the Eagles Addazio needs to make a lot of phone calls. Multiple kids that fit here very well.
