He was recruiting Sunday night for tOSU so I’m guessing it had to be Sunday morning.

Hafley went to Siena but I will try hard not to hold it against him. I guess it’s a step up from Central Connecticut St.

With Mizzou hiring Drinkwitz and Arkansas hiring Pittman... are we last Power 5 job open?

I don't know who will be hired. And, we won't know for a few years whether that hire was any good. But, what we do know is that there were a ton of quality coaches interested in the job. Just putting that out there for the next search when folks fret over whether we will ever be able to find qualified candidate who would want the job.

There are rich power-5 school, and there are poor power-5 schools, then there is 50 feet of crap in the power-5, and then there is BC.

Last power-5 job open? Makes sense. We are the last dog at the Power-5 bowl. What happens to the runt of the Power-5? He becomes Rutgers!

We have to think differently.

This is a crucial decision. I’d much rather us make a good hire than hire quickly. I would have been happy with Norvell or Drinkwitz but there are plenty good candidates still out there and having the only remaining Power 5 opening I think benefits us. People need to relax it’s only been one week since we fired Addazio.

I would expect an announcement this week, but again this shouldn’t be rushed.

I think we should rush it and make a terrible decision.

IB: stop referencing and quoting movies. It makes you sound dumber... especially since you usually miss the point of the source material.

I just want someone who can close. We need a salesman, a Zig Ziglar head coach, close on as many 4-star players as we can get. The rest (performance on gameday and keeping kids out of trouble) will have to take care of itself. Recruiting is fundamental. Without recruiting, we have no chance.

Is there a chance that if we do hire Hafley, that it's not announced until after the playoff? I'm not quite sure how these things work with the new playoff timeline.

There is no chance. Jarmond says he wants a coach before National Signing Day (December 18th).

But if Hafley was our choice and he demanded that he wanted to wait until after the playoff to announce would we really move on solely because we want to hire someone by 12/18?

Why in the fuck would Hafley demand that? He would have every motivation to close and improve the current class. At the end of the day, his future is tied to what he does as a head coach... not assisting HCRD.

Further, with this being the last Power 5 job open, it’s a buyer’s market. Shit, you have Butch Jones, Tony Elliott and Dave Aranda vying for the CSU gig. Not sure what leverage you think he had.

Bucknuts, the tOSU 247 site, thinks Hafley has been offered the job but can not confirm it yet.
They believe he is Interested in /wants the job and BC is interested in him. They expect that when all is said and done he will be named the next BC head coach in 24-48 hours.

Gotta admit, that's pretty cool from Lane Kiffin. We know Daz the Minchia wouldn't consider something like this, just cuz he's scared of a student reporter from the Heights or some shit.
