For the sake of accuracy, this was done by all 4 Beanpot teams and was decided in the previous June's athletic directors' meeting. I'm still amazed that nitwit Nicastro would get himself into trouble a few days after having that ribbon on his helmet. :skank

And Parker took the idea with his usual bit of class:

“Pretty soon, we’re going to have ribbons and puzzles and everything all over our uniforms,” Parker said in reference to adding a ribbon to a uniform that already hosts a puzzle piece raise awareness for autism. “Obviously, all four schools were happy to participate. But [the white ribbon] is a one-time thing for this tournament.”

Report: Penn State to Discontinue Singing of 'Sweet Caroline' at Games Due to 'Touching Me, Touching You' Lyrics by Dan Duquette, Jr. on Mon, Aug 27, 2012 at 11:57AM

Changes are in the air at Penn State for this year's upcoming football season, and one of them will be of unique interest to Red Sox fans.

The school is discontinuing its tradition of singing "Sweet Caroline" during games due to concerns raised by school officials in the wake of the Jerry Sandusky scandal, according to The Altoona Mirror. In particular, the school was worried that the "touching me, touching you" lyrics of the song would be pereceived as inappropriate in the wake of PSU's child sex abuse scandal.

The Neil Diamond hit, sung at Fenway Park every game during the middle of the eighth inning, was written by Diamond about Caroline Kennedy in the 1960s, when she was then 11 years old.

Penn State is making several other changes in preparation for the upcoming season, beyond music choices. The team has announced that player uniforms will have last names on the back for the first time, and that the team will arrive to the stadium earlier and players will enter not wearing their pads already.

Maybe the marching band can cover Tool's "Prison Sex."

You have to have some pro-ped state reference in your handle.

For example after my first successful hour of meatbombing and subsequent banning, I tried to register as boomerangEagle, BuffaloBill, etc. All just sat in pending for weeks never to be seen again.

Then I registered as lion4life and it took about 38 seconds for me to be approved.

FWIW I'm clear for another round as my posts no longer need mod approval.

Hiding a kiddie diddler kinda strips you from the ability to be fired with dignity.

Do you thing he actually hid him?

No he hid the story. Use your head for once you dumbass.

Never let facts or lack thereof get in the way of the opportunity to see your tag name in print....but then again, that's what this forum is all about, no?

What a lying peice of shit

Convicted child sex abuser Jerry Sandusky is professing his innocence ahead of his sentencing Tuesday, more than three months after being convicted of 45 counts of sexual abusing 10 young boys. But Monday night, in yet another bizarre twist to this case, he preempted himself with a three-minute audio statement from jail that aired on a Penn State student-run radio station.

He said in the recording, "They can take away my life, they can make me out as a monster, they can treat me as a monster, but they can't take away my heart. In my heart, I know I did not do these alleged disgusting acts. My wife has been my only sex partner. That was after marriage."

In addition, Sandusky blamed what amounted to a conspiracy against him.

He said, "A young man who is a dramatic, a veteran accuser and always sought attention started everything. He was joined by a well-orchestrated effort of the media, investigators, the system, Penn State, psychologists, civil attorneys and other accusers. They won."

He also went on to suggest that his experience could help other children. "Some vulnerable children who could be abused might not be as a result of all the publicity," he said in the recording. "That would be nice, but I'm not sure about it. I would cherish the opportunity to become a candle for others as they have been a light for me."

They should shoot this guy, not give him 30 years.

Just when people begin to "forget" about this whole thing, someone from the PSU or Paterno side comes out with something that refreshes the Public's loathing for the University and Paterno families. Awesome PR management!

These denials from the Paterno camp remain paper thin. It's amazing some of the things that these people are saying to try to take down the Freeh report. Liar liar pants on fire is surely going to come out soon from Paterno's family.

Jerry Sandusky's adopted son has applied for a name change. The court documents are sealed, so we don't know the reason why he wants to do this.

This was a good article. I feel bad for McQueary.

Also, Franco Harris sounds like a complete jackass.
