The Betro kid looks like Chris Lindstrom 2.0. Really fast athletic kid at 240 lbs. RS, put on the weight and you have a really fast and athletic 300 lb lineman.

Whether he actually is or not I'm not sure but Betro is listed at 280-290 already.

He ran a 5.0 at 250 I read somewhere so even better.

Betro got offered for defense. Hopefully he helps our chances with the four star OL that also plays at LA. That should be our top OL recruit this year.

They've had good luck with these quick DTs thus far

Eddy Fish, the University of Illinois transfer OL, is also from LA. Can't hurt to have familiar faces around for recruiting Dirstine.

Yes. He goes to Lawrence Academy, which is sometimes abbreviated LA. Other people in this thread saw a reference to LA and assumed that meant Louisiana.

It's really quite confusing

On twitter that's what it says. 247 says 330

Fwiw, Imothep is a weird place. I'd say the "culture" differences mean he prob isn't coming here.

I've never heard of a Lawrence Academy in Louisiana. Sounds fake.

Always love kids early in the process with other ACC offers.

Really good at high-pointing the ball, he is good at those jump ball deals.

With that said he's hard to get a read on because the DBs at FSU and Clemson are a tad more talented than the ISL.

WE MOST BUILD A WALL AROUND THE ISL!

0-2 start (Bobo & Freiermuth) with one more offer out (Dirstine).

add Betro, and Jay Symonds (from the same school that produced James McCaffrey!) with offers.

A little disapointed that we don't have any commits yet. I know the staff has traditionally waited to lock guys up the weekend of the spring game but I feel like the sooner we get a cornerstone to the class, the sooner said recruit can go after other recruits on the twitter machine.

While I think Daz has proven to be a solid evaluator of talent, he has been a tremendous disappointment when it comes to head-to-head recruiting. Outside of his first full class, there have been very few recruiting battles we have won against other Power 5 programs. And, while we all know the program's issues, 3-outta-4 bowl games would normally be glossed over by outsiders. Don't know if the new breed of player isn't interested in his schtick or if he doesn't have good enough assistants. Either way, it ain't good.

Daz claims the lack of facilities compared to what all of our competition has in place is the reason. We will see if recruiting improves in 2019 with the IPF hopefully open.

Without doing an in depth look at all of the classes, I would say they have all been fairly comparable in regards to head-to-head recruiting (assume you mean P5 competiion). Just looking very quickly, the class that you mention had a smaller % of commits 12-13 out of 27 commits who had legit P5 offers. Just as a proxy, last year had 12 of 21 with P5 offers. Even 2016, which many would probably say was the worst so far, had 10/19 with P5 offers, again just doing a real quick look.

So far they've missed 2 guys they probably should have gotten based on location, but its also only March. Most of the classes start picking up around this time, at least they have traditionally. I dont think its panic time ye and I wouldn't be shocked if were looking at 3-4 commits by the end of the month.

EA saying BC picked up first commit for 2018 although he has not outnumbered on twitter yet . Jehlani Galloway from Providence, RI. No other big offers, but they did offer a while back (think he was a camp guy). 6'2/175lb from Classical HS.

Yea I could see a similar situation here. Kid is a pretty good athlete.

Disclaimer is the competition is atrocious so it's a little hard to tell

I'm just glad Daz finally saw that he needs to bring in some of these Louisiana Athletes and stop going after frail MATHletes in New England.
