I like when our fanbase seriously considers mediocre level success as a means for getting on a large program's radar. Like when people were legitimately concerned that Addazzio's back to back 7-6 seasons made him the "plan b" for Michigan if Harbaugh didn't come through.

This search is an important search for the University of Michigan, its students, alumni, fans and, most importantly, me.

It's from the press conference where he announced Jags' firing. He opened with "Today is a difficult day for Boston College, it's students, alumni, fans and, most importantly, me."

Not on this site. But you could find chatter on BCI and ATl's blog about it.

Yes, I'm referring to idiots. But still, our idiots.

we should start a new thread called "brad bates to michigan?" where we talk him up to great lengths. that way, all the unregistered lurkers can read that thread, think he's the cat's knees and take him away from us.

then leahy can troll the other midwest schools looking for a milquetoast figurehead that can live up to the zero expectations established for him

Oh, to be a fly on the wall if BB MAC could ever score an interview for the Michigan job:

MICHIGAN INTERVIEWERS: So Mr Bates. You've been athletic director at Boston College for three years now. What initiatives have you spearheaded in that time?

I was tailgating with a prominent Michigan booster and former player that, according to him at least, is fairly influential and he mentioned Bates was at least a preliminary consideration, especially because he's a Michigan Man. He expressed skepticism in him, especially on weight that he doesn't think the search should just be limited to Michigan Men, but his name is definitely out there.

I find passing on Mullen and Schiano for Richt humorous. Always good to see a program go with a high floor/low ceiling hire (like BC with Daziani).

RU fans are besides themselves believing this means Schiano is coming home to the Banks of the Raritan.

Why would Schiano g back to Rutgers? Are his options that limited?

I think Richt is a great match with Miami. He needs top talent to overcome his lack of big game coaching and Miami gets an established head coach who should keep the local talent at home and under control and he is an alum. This could be a really good match. He at least wins 9 games every year worst case.

Bates to Michigan is possible because of the conduct of the last 2 AD's with the fans and students. They need a nice guy, football coach is already in place. They just need a friendly face in that position to smooth over the hard feelings created with the fans from the last 2 fuck ups.

You think they'd take a two-fer with Bates and Leahy-hoo?

Given that the arms are too long, it's possible that jacket was originally purchased for someone else. Given that it's been awhile since the one-button, broad lapel look was in vogue, it's possible the original owner died wearing that jacket.

getting back in the fold with Eastern Clothing of watertown should be one of the top 3 priorities for the athletic department right now.
