Ed Ogeron and Dabo Swinney are on that list. There are no words.

Malzahn might make an argument if he beats Alabama.

I'd say Briles or Malzahn.
As over-the-moon we are about going from 2-10 to 6-4, Gus has taken Auburn from 3-9 to 9-1 and he is doing all that in the ess eee seee.

BTW... everytime I see Malzahn on TV, I think about his crazy wife.

I don't think highly of either one as coaches - but both are having a good year. So if you were voting would you permanently exclude coaches you had a low opinion of? I would, but wouldn't blame others for voting for a coach having a great year

True but they were only one year removed from 8 wins vs. BC being one year removed from 4. Malzahn has certainly done a great job but Daz's rebuild is bigger.

I agree that Dazoo's rebuild is bigger. But, both are in the nascent stages of their rebuild. This award and that list should be based solely on their coaching job this year. And, while I agree that Dazoo deserves to be on that list based on whT he has done this far, Malzahn's success is much more impressive.

Without a doubt. Many preseason prognosticators stated Malzahn would have the quickest turnaround of the new coaches because of the top 5/10 recruiting classes that Chizik paid for. I mean recruited.

HJS knows all of this, but for some reason he enjoys making bad arguments.

Much more impressive? Auburn recruiting according to Scout:

2010 - #6
2011 - #2
2012 - #8
2013 - #14

Great to see Daz on the list. I think the argument of "Cutcliffe won his division.... at Duke" is going to trump what he's done but getting put on this list is great in terms of perception, how people talk about BC ball right now etc.

Malzahn is also able to bring in knuckledragging JUCO illiterates.

I'd give it to Cutcliffe, especially if he gets Duke to the ACC CG

But... Duke plays in the Basketball Division and BC plays in the Football Division (which will become even more pronounced once UL is swapped in for MD). So, we are really talking apples and oranges here.

Cutcliffe. If Dazoo wins the last two, there will be some talk though. It's not just the 8 wins or the fact that Andre will win the Doak - BC has remained relevant this season as the only team to really challenge FSU and Clemson this season.

I feel like we aren't getting much credit for those games. We're the only team to have scored more than 14 points on FSU all season and were a few plays away from beating Clemson and no one seems to have noticed.

Assuming best case scenarios for BC (8 wins), Duke (Coastal Title), Cutcliffe wins because it's Duke. Voters are lazy, and as much as BC has sucked for the past few years, it's been a winning program for a generation, whereas Duke has been a wasteland. Also, without discounting 7 or 8 wins and the improvement we've shown, I think it's much harder to turn a 7/8 win team into a 10 win team than a 2/3 win teams into a 6/7 win team. The margin for error in a 10 win season is mighty small.

Of course, all of this goes out the door if Auburn beats Bama, because RESPEKT.
