CJ Lewis first with the OPI, then gets the DPI call, then gets the TD.

A tough loss. Lots to like, lots to be haunted by.

Not quite the nut punch that the Ed Reed pick return against St Pierre was, but I did have that flashback.

Can someone explain why we didn't get the ball on that onside kick?

I’m happy with the performance overall as well... team played hard and it came down to a onside kick against a top ranked team. This UNC team has a great chance to get to the ACC title game.

For a rebuilding team that was quite an afternoon.

We definitely have a QB...

Is it not reviewable? Otherwise, how can you not at least take a look at it?

I'm actually fairly certain BC didn't get it until after the guy was down but as long as they waited, it's horseshit. Doesn't matter, needed a TD

For the record, if that is a top 12 team, BC is a top 25 team. Neither is true.

I think there are 4 teams in the ACC that are very, VERY good, 1 of which (Clemson) that is unbeatable, but this UNC team is one of the very good ones. BC plays all three of the four very good teams.

Can't complain. BC played well on the big plays on offense but the penalties killed this team in the second half, that is for damn sure. I'm still thinking, 5-6 is probably where they will wind up this season. But given this roster and its lack of speed (and so-so line that gives up way too many sacks) 5 wins against the toughest schedule since 1995 is not so bad.

More important than is UNC a top 12 team is that they’re the 3rd best team we play, at worst. So I like our chances this season

A lot of character on this team... makes up for some talent deficit. Offense has more talent... but no real identity other than slinging the ball around in the last 5 mins. I didn’t expect the 2nd half offense that we saw. Expected pass to set up run today. Jurk is only going to get better. We can win plenty more games.

That UNC team is far from good. Unless you think "doors blown off by Clemson, but can win rock fights with everyone else, and by everyone else, I mean literally everyone but Wake and GT," then yes, they are good. That is mediocre football team with some decent athletes that they can't get the ball coached by Joe Biden.

I think UNC is the 3rd best team on the schedule, behind Notre Dame and of course, far behind Clemson. I think BC loses those 3 and loses to VPI, Pitt, and UVa. But if they find a way to steal one vs one of the two Virginia schools, then they might get 6 wins.

I realize that this was the absolute bare minimum we all required from a hire, but dear lord is this a vastly improved performance as compared to Daz. Adjustments. Playing to strengths (ignoring the run when it was obvious we were not getting anything done), and the biggest difference: situational awareness/clock awareness from the coach. I’d remind the doubters that Hafley’s decision to punt on 4th and 1 from his own territory with 8ish minutes left proved to be shrewd given how the UNC drive petered out (thx to Hafley’s opposite number, Bernie Lomax).

Disappointed in the ending, but strangely satisfied. The team played their best in the 4th quarter for the third straight game -- I can't remember that being the case for many years.

Defense is still shaky at times, but they have a better scheme than last year and play with hustle and heart so far. Offense is great in the hurry-up, but I wish they would mix in a few more Bailey runs during the standard sequences. Plus the O-Line is up-and-down so far. Jurkovic has tons of confidence, is already better than most of BC's recent QBs, and I think he'll improve further with more experience. And time management has been outstanding.

I also do think UNC is a good team. Good QB who played smart, good runners, big receivers, and a good defense.

Looking forward to the rest of the season...

I was one that thought you take the automatic first down with the huge QB. But yes, in retrospect it worked out well. Hafley probably didn't overestimate that UNC team like everyone else. That said, dude did miss a FG

Also, if the 2pt was a read option, Jurk needs to read better. Gives it to Garwo he walks in. Tough to second guess a guy that wants it in his hands, but the replay was crazy

On a side note, Garwo should be the starting RB in this offense moving forward.

Isn't it nice to care again?

Dazziani years were simply a waste of time.

You watch this game and you see adjustments being made.

Doubtful we have post games interviews ever again where the coach simply says "so what?" and goes on to remind you his team is young and injured after being embarrassed.

There is a pulse. Lots of missed opportunities today. More text messages and conversation with my BC alums that are casual fans. They are starting to pay attention again.

It is nice to care about BC football again. :ace

Lukabu and Hafley have definitely made a world of difference on the defensive side of the ball. While they can't turn the likes of Mike Palmer into ACC caliber players, schematically they have seem to have found a way to get the most out of this group. It is far from perfect, but it is exciting to think about how much better they can be once they start bringing in their own recruiting classes.

A Jim Reid defense would've allowed at least 45 points vs. this UNC offense today.

It’s the second best team in the ACC.
I’ll let someone else determine UNC ranking against the rest of the country.
