Jameis Winston has some problems

It looks like the Florida State’s Attorney’s office has said they will likely decide whether or not to charge Winston in two weeks’ time—after the ACC championship and after the Heisman voting has concluded, leaving the issue still unresolved when the voting takes place. http://www.thedailybeast.com/articles/2 ... nship.html

Winston is clearly the front runner, and without this hanging over him he would clearly run away with it. It remains to be seen if enough voters will consider it significant enough to change their votes to AW. Tough call. Innocent until proven guilty vs character and integrity of the Heisman. If Dre has a big enough game Saturday, many of the Heisman voters will have enough of an excuse to go with him.

Even if the DA (an FSU grad) charges Winston I still think he plays in the national championship game. School rules require team suspension if charged with a felony except under "extraordinary" circumstances., There is no doubt the school will consider a national championship to be pretty extraordinary.

My guess is the Prosecutor will go to great lengths to say there are plenty of reasons to believe that this was not consentual... but that there is simply not enough evidence to reasonably get a conviction.

Yeah, I have the same question.

He won't be charged. Granted, he's no flight risk, but it just doesn't make sense to hold a press conference, even if they tipped off defense counsel and plan on processing him in the AM. These are among the hardest cases to get a conviction, and ultimately that is their goal.
