Potential devices being found throuhgout the city. The latest in the T station in Harvard Sq and the glass walking bridge over Huntington Ave entering the Copley Mall.

If the Copley Mall one is true, they will have TON of video of someone placing the package (as everyone may recall from BUConvict's failed exploits).

The police are saying that they have a photo of a suspect (first I'm hearing that they have him in custody). Not sure NYPost is all that reliable as they are also reporting that 12 are dead (the only outlet reporting such).

BTW... a block on Comm Ave is now walled off after finding another device.

Boston police commissioner just spoke during a press conference. he announced there weere 2 explosions at 1450. One of which was a controlled explosion.

A third explosion occurred 30 minutes at later at JFK library. No injuries at that location.

Same NY Post reporting that 20-year old Saudi National in custody.

I'm not so sure about that report either...

HJS {l Wrote}:NBC saying "Multiple explosive devices found". BTW... Jeff Greenfield of Yahoo News seems to be blaming it on right-wing extremists protesting Tax Day.

This does not seem like a very good way to get people to support your cause.

public transit has been shutdown according to BPD
bruins game has been cancelled
mobile phone service has also been shutdown to prevent remote detonations

Fox/Post should have a filter.

@jimgeraghty April 15 is income tax today...only thing I can think of with any conceivable political significance..which proves nothing.

Greenfield and Geraghty dont know about Patriots' Day? History apparently is not their strong point.

I spent part of the afternoon in Lexington taking in events to commemorate the battles of Lexington and Concord, the start of the revolutionary war. Lots of veterans of all ages were on hand. The Norwich University military band marched to Lexington Green and played a number of patriotic songs. You couldn't help feeling proud the be an American.

Then I got home and saw the news of this act of terrorism on TV. When the person(s) responsible is found he needs to be publicly killed. There has to be a law on the books in Massachusetts where acts of terrorism are punishable by death. Kill him.

They will. Federal law allows for execution even if Massachusetts State law does not. This will be a "Federal" issue me thinks. But they wont be executing anyone until they extract every bit of information that they can from every guilty person.

could have been a total of 7 packages, two of which exploded
the additional 5 packages are in the process of examining/detonating
bombs are speculated to be crude considering their size and packaged with shrapnel

possible person of interest in boston hospital (covered with burns, found running away from the scene, and in the U.S. on a student-visa)

Counterterrorism officials found what they believe to be five additional, undetonated explosive devices around the Boston area, according to two people briefed on the rapidly moving investigation.

The devices—which are in addition to the two that exploded near the finish line of the marathon—were discovered over the course of a frantic inspection of suspicious packages, many of them abandoned as pedestrians, runners, and others scrambled away from crowded public streets. Each had been rendered inoperative or was in the process of being rendered inoperative, the officials said.
