i can think of some acceptable excuses

1. he was dead
B. he had a highly contagious illness like mono or ebolla or giardiasis (beaver fever) that he didn't want to infect others with
iii. food poisoning from the stuart hall hair wings that had him sharting his tightey whiteys
d. caught in game day traffic

and those are just off the top of my head

There was zero delay between head umpire discussing it with the rest of the ref team and then turning on the mike and making the announcement. Usually when there's any question of accept vs. decline there's more of a noticeable back and forth discussion between the refs and the sideline. There wasn't any discussion at all.

Either somebody on the BC sideline was enthusiastically and immediately signalling accept or the refs just tagged on the penalty.

Watching it live, I assumed Daz was enthusiastically signalling to the refs to accept the penalty. Because, after all, Daz has no idea what he's doing out there.

but he has no problem yelling at the refs from the moment he walks out of the tunnel to the moment he heads back to the locker room a loser. who can possibly believe that he wouldn't have been on the field calling the ref a fucking idiot and an asshole in between requests to decline the penalty.
